Stereotypes Posted on 10-14-2004

I've heard so many different stereotypes, and obviously there is no truth to a lot of them. I just want to hear from some of the Greeks on here, what stereotypes about your own organization or other organizations have you found to hold some truth? That is, if ya'll can speak on it.

I've heard all kinds of junk. Mostly from NON-GREEKS.... Ladies of DST step harder for the Ques than they do for themselves. (I know Alpha Mu can tear a stage UP!) Fellas of KAPsi won't step hard enough to break a sweat. ( Alpha Nu did their thing for homecoming!) The Sigmas are random dudes no other frat wanted. (WHATEVER... Eta is full of men that wanted nothing other than Sigma.) AKA's are the pretty girls on ANY campus. (We're not even gonna go there...) Zetas are the dark skinned **** girls. (And we DAMN SURE won't be going there..... mos def not those pretty kittyz of Zeta Alpha.) Ques don't do anything but bark and chill on the plot. (Mu Psi has some hard working, intelligent men...)

Actually heard this about Iota, of course it's a stereotype   AKA's are the pretty girls on ANY campus. (We're not even gonna go there...) What?! It's true! Zetas are the dark skinned **** girls. (And we DAMN SURE won't be going there..... mos def not those pretty kittyz of Zeta Alpha.) :? I've never heard this one, well at least not about Zetas  Ques don't do anything but bark and chill on the plot. (Mu Psi has some hard working, intelligent men...) 8)

Not all AKAs are "pretty girl"(TRUST ME) . They try to be. I did hear "most of them are PAPER." Kappas are "pretty boys" and why should they have to break a sweat to step; they cane anyway. I never heard that Sigmas are "random dudes"; most of them are quite intelligent. SGRHOs have been known for being "nerds"(but it is always about quality members). Zetas are not all ****. And DSTs..... Well, I already mentioned AKAs. APHIAs are the "real Gentlemen". Omegas stay CRUNK!!(We need that is Greekdom) Iotas, well, they are new, but they stand strong!

1) NERDS???? LOL, I never heard that one before, SGRho nerds??? I mean Gamma Chapter, all of us have 3.3 or better... LOL that must be an Alabama thing....The only thing I heard about SGRho was that they are not that many of us and THANK GOD there isn't!! That's less people I got to keep up with, I can barely keep up with the 4 LS's I got!!....besides it's all about quality over QUANTITY!!! 2) I don't judge girls like that, im strick d*ck, and all but, not all AKA's are that pretty, and not all Zeta's are ****. Every organization has their pretty few and their **** few. I heard people say that Zetas carry **** attitudes along and the Zetas hold on to Sigmas a little bit..too...tightly, yet not all Zetas and Sigmas get along..... 3) I also never heard the Sigmas being "randon". I do agree with some of them being quite intelligent, some at my school ( Elliott, Kyle, D. Rhodes (my boyfriend), and many more sorry i didn't name ya) are very smart. Yet at the same time, the thing I hear about Sigmas is that they are drunks and they party all the time. Also that they party-hop all the time, which is funny, because i seen a couple party-hoppin' to their class one day. They throw good parties though  4)AKA's paper? Get outta here, I just thought they always cross lines with 74-100 people????? 5) I would have agreed with the Kappa thing, only if i didn't just go to a stepshow and seen a 6'7, big , dark, **** headed Kappa with a red Kappa shirt and green pants. He looked like the man of Christmas Past. He made Kappa look real bad that night. However the Kappas at my school don't ever dress bad, even if was raining or it was snowing in Greensboro. I promise you, you would still see one Kappa with a suit on. 6) Alphas are very good gentleman. So are Iotas too but I guess not everyone would know unless they are active on your campus. 7) Omegas, they always acting up. Enough said.

okay since this one is startin off slow im gonna say some of the thangs ive heard  AKA's are pretty girls  kappas are pretty boys  Q's are somewhat rowdy so anyone have any opinions on that?
not all AKA's are pretty nor all Kappa's. (I'm speaking on the ones I have seen at Tuskegee and Marquette University).
:o BLASPHEMY! ~AKAs really ARE pretty girls, don't believe the hype ~AKAs really DO dance circles around other orgs in community service ~AKAs really DO have the most wonderful sisterhood on earth 8)
Lets ask the families of those two girls who drowned in California this question then lets see if this is true.

This would also be a stereotype...that a small group equals quality and a large group does not. It is possible to have quantity AND quality. It is just as easy to have group of 3 people that are a hot mess as it is to have 30.

However my organization, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc represents "quality over quantity" among other things. What I meant by it when I posted it was that my organization is not trying to have a large amount of girls in our organization (if that was the case, we would have interest meetings, we would just let everyone join that was interested in being in a sorority) . Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. looks for ladies who are TRULY interested in all principles and standards that Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. stands for and ladies who can continue the legacy that my founders left for me and my soRHOrs to uphold, "Scholarship, Service, and SISTERHOOD". And that ma'am is a FACT, not a stereotype. If I'm not mistaken, Zeta Phi Beta has the same opinion about "quality over quantity". If I am mistaken, my bad.
