I have TWO questions.
WHAT IS A TRUE REPRESENTATION OF A BLACK MALE?
WHATIS A TRUE REPRESENTATION OF A BLACK FEMALE?
I ask this because I feel I represent the black race as a whole and I know if some of you knew me personally many of you would probably say "he acts white". I get these comments because i don't wear the baggy jeans, the oversized t-shirts, the hats, du-rags and timbs. But I represent the black race just in my own way. I can't knock Shavonda for her taste in white men, hell if my grandparents wouldn't have met each other than I wouldn't be here to say this. Not knocking anyone's opinion but isn't it time for us to REPRESENT ourselves and not allow TV characters to do it?
what is yall's problem yall make it seem like shavonda and him are martin luther king and rosa parks, get a life
Before u hop on yer soapbox, when was the last time MTV showed a "realistic" representation of a Black Male or Female? (Jaquese excluded)
Maybe this is a real representation...no offense to nobody...I know you all are going to jump down my throat....
However...alot of Black people act wild (including myself) We all have class to some extent....but behind that class we all have individual skeltons that cause us to seem unclassy....
And it is not only for the black race..it is for the white, asian, and Native American race.....
None are perfect except in Heaven...it is idea to have a heaven like show..but we as people could not handle it..we would think it was lame, and wish for more mess/drama, arguments,or insane diversity on the show...
Why is everyone saying Syrus and Jacquese were good representations of a strong black male, Syrus definately wasn't and I think some of ya'll are forgetting a lot of people, like Malik from that back to New York, and Kevin from the very first New York, as a matter of fact Kevin is like a major political figure now, I just saw him at the presidential convention and he was just on BET news.
I do agree that MTV does a poor job of representing us but in reality who does really when you think about it, all reality shows make their rating off of stereotypes and I doubt it's going to change unless we start supporting more of the black shows that break these stereotypes.
To me Kameelah was a great representation of us. Coral is my girl too.
Syrus wasn't and Malik's confused **** wasn't either.
I liked Kameelah...Coral gets on my gatdamn nerves...she always gotta be the baddest b*tch...she keeps it real, but she takes it to a level thats uncalled for. I really liked Nicole from the Back to New York season. She was the one who wore alotta makeup. I wonder what ever happened to her.

kameelah had a bad a** attitude and so does coral. nicole was cool but the female that repersented well for the black females was that black girl from miami. for the females i think ja was cool david from new orleans was cool.
