I need sources. I saw this on another board too. I can't accept that Serena made these statements without some proof.

For some strange unknown reason, I don't fancy Serena too much. Maybe its because people hype her looks up, when its nothing but a healthy body. I don't know her personally, so I can't put this past her. But I doubt she would go out of her way to denouce dating black men on national radio or whatever she did it on. I hope she's not that stupid or narrowminded.

Washington, DC ... 24-Time Tennis Champion Serena Williams is angry upon learning that someone has fraudulently transmitted, via the internet, an interview that she has allegedly conducted, which is an absolute hoax. Ms. Williams has conducted no such interview. On Monday, December 6, 2004, people from across the country began receiving this alleged interview via email, which has generated call-ins to radio stations, letters and emails from individuals curious as to whether Ms. Williams actually said what is being attributed to her. The answer is NO. Serena Williams has not conducted and would not, under any circumstance, conduct such an interview. It is unfortunate that someone could be so vile as to defame and slander Ms. Williams as the writer has intentionally done. We are making every attempt to find the source of this hoax. "Words cannot express how upset I am to find out that someone has deliberately attempted to ruin my reputation and image," says Ms. Williams. "I would never, ever, under any circumstance, be so disrespectful. Whoever decided to write this garbage does not know Serena Williams. It is not my thinking nor my being. I want to find out who is behind this, and have them prosecuted within the fullest extend of the law. I am hoping that there will be more policing over the Internet, in order to find out immediately the origin of this kind of treachery. No one deserves to be humiliated and defamed this way." source: Raymone K. Bain / Davis, Bain and Associates, Inc. / Washington, DC

Even though this interview is disrespectful to the fullest, there are some truths to it. Black women are surpassing us Black men at an alarming rate. It's becoming harder for them to find Black men who are on their level, academically or socially. I say socially because money and social standing are closely tied. I was just talking to one of my female freinds about why Black men get away with the sh*t they do. It's this truth that the good ones are far and few between that causes Black women to put up with stuff they shouldn't.I don't beleive that Black men are close to becoming as obsolete as this article suggest, but that there's still some hope. It basically comes down to whether Black women are willing to expand their boundaries, and date outside their race. If more Black women were to do this, it would be a serious wake up call to Black men.

^I 100% agree with you. I do believe us Black women are running a little low on combatible Black men. I won't give up on my brothas though. White dudes try to holla and I can't even tell you how many Mexicans I get hit on by, but I guess it's that since of loyality I have. I'm not going to leave him, I'm going to uplift him. But I do agree brothas need a wake up call when it comes to us. i think yall take us forgranted a lot because we hold yall down no matter what, so a lot of yall feel we'll still be there. Listen to Jill Scott's "I Need You". It explains the epedimic so well that's going on.

^^^^....I feel you Ms. Megan, but look at it this way. A lot of brothas wouldn't hesitate to go outside of their race to find a woman. Why should you just be limited to dating Black men? I'm not saying you gotta totally abandon Black men, but why totally shut out some great guys? You never know what you might be missing out on.

^^^....All I gotta say is wow. If you truly feel that type of loyalty toward Black men, then it's no doubt in my mind you'll find a good one, or he'll find you. That's if it hasn't already happened.
