I'm from middle GA, and I wanted to get away! I wanted to go to Hampton sooo bad, but my parents didn't want me to be that far away  , so I went to Spelman instead. If distance weren't a major factor, I would be in VA now, and sometimes I wonder if I would have been better off at Hampton. Well, only time will tell.

yea location is playing a major role in my college decision... If I didn't already live in Atlanta I would definetely go to Morehouse...but it's WAY too close to home...FAMU is 6 hrs away but when I went there for a visit I just wasn't feelin the school at all (fine women though 8) )...Tuskegee is a good school but it's just in the middle of NO WHERE and the campus is ****...I went for a visit and it made me sick just being there...Howard is just right for me...it's right in the nation's capital...and once I visit the campus in May, I will make my final decision...my parents actually want me to go out of state...so that's all good with me... I just gotta get out of GEORGIA...

I would say that distance kind of played a role in my decision (L.A. to D.C.) because I knew that this would be a great time for me to live on the eastcoast because I would be going back and forth...I think that if you do choose HU, you probably won't worry too much about distance because there are a lot of ppl from all over CA (over 700 I heard) plus we have the best state club in my opinion  btw, what city are you from?

distance has no affect on my decsion. I am lookin to get away from arizona been here for 5 months and was ready to leave the day i arrived. MY schools are all on the east coast from texas to missippi as far as Georgia and Florida. My decisions a purely based on what the school has to offer me

Distance wasn't necessarily a factor. My current lack of a mode of tranportation was. Best believe that if I had a car before I went to college, there would be a good chance I would be at Albany State or Georgia Southern right now. Then again, I might be at one of those aformentioned schools by my junior year because... 1. I WILL be getting a car during the summer. 2. The experience I've received down here thus far is undesirable. I really don't want to describe all the bullshyt that I've been through.

Distance was a big factor in my education cuz my momma was definetly tellin me that i couldn't go out of state for college .and i wanted to go to an hbcu and the only ones in maryland are coppin morgan eastern shore and bowie. and my momma didn't want me to go to coopin, or eastern shore because that was too far away. so i was down to morgan and Bowie. Morgan took to long to get a reply and i already got accepted into Bowie so i'm going to Bowie

distance was a big factor for me...my parents offered me a car to remain at the local university, they didnt want me nowhere but home but i knew that wasnt me.....ga state was my chosen school but it was too close to home, only an hours drive and i wanted to be at a black college....in the end i wanted to get as far away from my parents as possible so i chose BCC even tho Daytona is only about six hours from where i live in GA, because I did kind of rush my decision I am now lookin into other universities...hampton is my number one draft pick right now, so I may be leaving if they ever get their stuff right over there if u are worried about leaving make sure u think about it completly dont rush ur decision because ur the one to have to live with it. if u r worried about being out of state without family..trust me it will only make u stronger u will gain a family of friends that will be there for u. yes my decision was rushed but i dont regret any of my time here, i gained friendships that i hope to continue throughout the rest of my life

Well, I'm about 9.5 to 10 hours away from my parents and about 4 to 5 hours away from my sister. Plus, I have a few relatives who are not too far from where I'm living now. The distance didn't affect my decision because I usually drive to wherever I need to go. Also, I used to live several hours away from my family when I was in undergrad, so I kinda got used to living a long distance away from my usual surroundings.

Distance definitely played a role in my decision. Howard was my first choice, but being that I had never been away from home for more than a week, I didn't wanna go that far away. I also thought about the weather. I have fam there and everything, but I ended up at Grambling, which is still a few states away, but nearly as far as Howard. Now that I am used to being away I have considered transferring to HU.
