I was just wondering which HBCUs are known to have the highest academic standards and best reputation for excellence? I did a little research on it before, but the only schools I can still remember are...
Howard
Morehouse
Clark
Spelman
FAMU
Hampton
Dillard
Stillman
Xavier
Tuskegee
I know there were at least one or two more on my original list, but can't remember what they were. Any glaring omissions?
Also, what academic area are these schools best known for? For example, I know FAMU has an excellent reputation for business.
Finally, what are the top 2 or 3 HBCUs to attend for an education degree?
I know that's a lot of info to ask for, but I have 3 or 4 friends considering attending HBCUs that are asking me for advice, and I don't know enough to tell them. Thanks in advance for any help.
Awwww, hell... that little rat **** told me that A&T was the only black school with one when I signed on. I don't feel so special no more... I got half a mind to kick his ****...
Aaron, your research is a little tainted, Hampton doesn't have a law school...I believe we have pre-law, but most people I know who want to be lawyers either major in history or political science.
We are known as the "Harvard of the South" with many highlight programs.

I think Duke University would qualify as the "Harvard of the South" before hampton "university" would!
But if it has to be a black school, then I'm sure Howard University is a lot more prestigous than the Institute!

Cosigns....Duke is like the best school in the south period. That is where i want to go for grad school.....
 ...like I said...Hampton is known as the "Harvard of the South" whether you agree or not...as far as Howard...DC folks don't consider themselves Southern
Duke no comment on how they exploit black athletes and how when you go there and ur a black student most likely you are there for a sport and if not folks ignorantly assume that you are...but again no comment on that
