Views on Male Ear Piercings

My dad and his people have been given me a lot of negative information and opinions about males with ear piercings and the such. I was wondering what are yalls views on ear piercings for males and how many holes a dude should have in either ear.
It doesn't matter how old I may get, my mom will still beat my **** if I had any body piercings. She's one of those people who thinks that any guy with body piercings is deemed suspect. Personally, I'm indifferent of the whole thing. I honestly can't picture myself with earrings, but at the same time I don't see the big fuss about having them, either.
I ain't with all that tongue ring, or cartilage piercing sh*t, but I'm thinking about getting another hole in both ears after I graduate and go to college. It's gonna become the new thing.
