Okay lovely people of HBCU's here are my imputs on D.C, Howard and everything in between(if u care to know): D.C- * I'll have to un-learn how to properly drive because it seems no one knows how to drive *pedestrians dont stop at red lights i guess and walk slowly across on green *too too too much traffic everywhere *bold **** bums from D.C *houses that are conjoined and painted in extreme colors (whats that about?) *it'll take some adjusting Howard- *a tad bit unorganized especially when it came to financial aid time *beautiful people. honestly almost all the girls looked like models and a lot of attractive men also *loved the stores by howard. one i especially would love to shop at is up against the wall *a lil bit ghetto *i didnt talk to anybody which sucked. Overall- Im lookin forward to the experience, if anybody who reads this goes to Howard or will be going please respond with ur own views on the subject

I would have love to go to the open house Chanel: I know what you mean I been so excited about getting out of CT now its kinda sad For the negative comments on the city I felt the same way when I went I grew up in prodominantly white suberbs so people beggin at the mcdonalds was new to me On a positive note; the campus was nice and the people seemed cool I liked the metro, the stores; especially up against the wall, Georgetown the business district I cant wait

thanx for making this post, my twin sister is going to Howard in the fall and i'm kind of worried about her being that far away from home, her first choice was Spelman but they put her on a waiting list, although I told her before she should choose Howard over Spelman LOL!! anywayz does anyone know if they have storage space? and what stores are close to the campus where you can buy what you need for your dorm.

Yah!!! we'll be in the same class(09!!! what!!!)Im mad i didnt get to see the dorms though. Our class well the people i saw yesterday seemed pretty on point. i cant wait to meet everybody Its ashame we didnt get to meet. if u went back to new york im sure u experienced the traffic in New jersey like we did(it sucked) Maybe its just me thats not used to traffic like that. Anyways. To everybody else. I didnt make this a all negative thread its just some things different from where i come from (Connecticut) which i'll have to get used to because making that transformation from small town to big city might not be easy as it seems. And i did like alot of things and despite everything else, I'm going to Howard and look forward to it.
Yeah that traffic was crazy...even when i was coming up the traffic was heavy and was making me frustrated. It made me late i got there at like 9:30...

I went to the open house on the 15th and I loved it. They have some crazy school spirit up there and most of the students seem like they are really serious about theirs and are gonna be some successful black people. I fell in love with Chequan (the husa president)...too bad he won't be there in the fall. But I really love it, the only thing that **** me off were the people in the A-building because they are **** but of course we already knew that. DC really isn't that bad, it's a large metropolitan city and crackheads, trash, traffic are just things that come with the territory and if you have common sense you can handle yourself in the city. But I AM IN LOVE WITH HU! I cannot wait til 08.20.05 when class of '09 comes to take it over!

I hope yall have fun at HU! I live in the DC area and let me tell you, DC's a fun city to be in...get used to the crackheads cuz there's a lot of them around here (just today some homeless dude that was limpin on a cane told me he was gon shoot me :???: ) but it's people like that that make life interesting! LoL...Howard's the ****, I keep tellin ppl that if I didn't live here I'd go to Howard (but since it's too close, I'll be at Spelman in the fall!) Um..."Last Stop" and "Up Against the Wall" are basically the best stores for urban fashion...u can find those clothes in the malls in Maryland also, but they're mad expensive...yes the traffic's ridiculous...and people most definitely CANNOT drive around here! just be alert and you should be fine! basically bring an open mind to DC and yall will have fun at the real HU!
