-Small Friendly quiet University
-It's tradtion can't be touched....the buildings today we have on campus were made by Booker T. Washington and students....

-Everyone knows each other....literally
-Network stays down a lot
-Frequent Power ****
-Admin is very slow and gives you the run around
but a lot of things you have to overlook due to the fact we have moronic **** **** at this school who don't know how to take care of their Sh*t....such as people tearing up the dorm...being liter bugs....it's truly a beautiful school..When I first came here on my Football recruit trip a tear ran down my eye literally....the Booker T. Really?....since when?...what has happened there significant to the United States?...do you have busloads of people coming to your campus everyday to see the TU Airmen,George Washington Carver Museum and Booker T. Washington?....
Every HBCU have their own distinct history and what not. Yes, we do have busload of people coming to see the Bluff, the campus, and our Museum of Art. We also have a Law School, something ya'll don't.
Oh, the concept of Southern University was made possible by the Honorable P.B.S Pinchback, the first African-American governor in the Union(Louisana),T.T.Allain, and Henry Demas in 1879. In 1890, the university under the 1890 Morrill Act that made it possible to receive funds as a Land Grant institution. The Southern University System is the only HBCU system in the United States, with the possibility of opening a campus in West Africa.
In 1914, due to the growth of Southern, a special legislative session was called in order that Southern would be relocated to Scotlandville, LA. The University is now situated where Baton Rouge was founded. You can see the "Red Stick Monument" alongside the burial places of the "Father of Southern University" and his family(wife;First Lady Octavia H. Clark, and son,Dr Felton G. Clark, also President of Southern University from 1938-1969.) Dr. Joseph S. Clark, who was President from 1914-1938, placed the institution on the path that it is today.
Jackson State and many other HBCU schools are National Historic Sites as well.
Just do more research.
That statue is beautiful and the message is strong.

I've been to Jackson State had the tour and everything....and I didn't see any of those brown signs that labeled it a national historic site =/....and the campus is not kept up...it cant be one. >=\
Ummm...I just came from the Louisiana Park and Historic Site...Yea Southern is Listed as Historic, but were talking about NATIONAL....We have 4 just right here on Skegee's campus that has impacted American history...Airmen,GWC,Booker and "The Project".......

  Soon, one of these days. I wonder why its not when its has a challenging curriculum?
Dont go to any of them if you want a real education. But if that doesn't bother you then pick any of them. Maybe try Clark, at least they pretend to try.
every school challenges students...but you must produce numbers....Just take a look at your Admissions,Grad Rate, Job Rate.....and compare those to the HBCUs ranked.......no wonder people hate on us all the time....Were Uppity Negros....
Niggers are like Crabs in a bucket...one tries to come up...we all want to call each other Uncle Toms and bring each other back down.
I don't. I just have a problem when people forget where the fukk they come from.
The clan? I would never be in that. I love my people. It's just the ignorant ones who are so locked into their elitist views and bouyed by their superiority complexes that they cant see the truth that bother me.
