What do you all think about wives submitting themselves to their own husbands. Sometimes some people take the scripture in ephesians 5:22 out of context. A while ago after hearing Elder Johnny James comment on it I was enlightened ever more about the scripture. I already knew that the scripture was only referring to married women, of course, and that it was clarifying that wives need to submit to their OWN husbands. As I look up a verse I also see that we ought to submit ourselves one to another. So what I'm seeing is that we should each submit in our own way, in our roles in marriage. So with all that being said what do you all think about "submitting" to your husband when marriage arrives?
First, i'd like to say that this is subjective. Just because you may not have seen the words " woman, love your husband", in the bible doesn't mean that she shouldn't love him. [color]

On another tip, from what I understand of the bible woman was to be loved like the church itself...A house is run by two heads; the time and culture they lived in was much of a patriarchy, though women had just as much power in their households as their husbands. So it was more appropriate to say that men are the representatives of a house. If the man wasnt doing so well it was a representation of the whole house whereas the wife could be unemployed or at home and no one downed that fact.

hows about thier effects on society? i mean they've done some positive, but have ya looked at the negative??? they're destroying our homes and our women! yeah i beieve in equal right for women, but the feminist are taking it too far! they're turning them into a bunch of male-bashers who are on some failed-**** quest to defeat society's double standards...look it, there's always gonna be some things that society expects of a man, and some things that society expects of a woman..

dude...that's where i disagree....there can't be 2 heads of the house...where does the bible say a house is run by 2 heads? what the heck do you think happens to an animal with 2 heads?? there needs to be one and God has designed it so that it is the male...

Oh, and about the men and women being two heads of a household... youre so old school. Alot of the translations of the text do point to what you speak of: Men being the head. However, A head means nothing without a body (the church) so it would be safe to say that they are equally important. Equally.
