What do you all think about wives submitting themselves to their own husbands. Sometimes some people take the scripture in ephesians 5:22 out of context. A while ago after hearing Elder Johnny James comment on it I was enlightened ever more about the scripture. I already knew that the scripture was only referring to married women, of course, and that it was clarifying that wives need to submit to their OWN husbands. As I look up a verse I also see that we ought to submit ourselves one to another. So what I'm seeing is that we should each submit in our own way, in our roles in marriage. So with all that being said what do you all think about "submitting" to your husband when marriage arrives?

Id like to point out something in debate that I call "Flawed Logic" or a prettier term "Fallacy". There are several ways in which someone could use a fallacy, as an example goes something like this... Feminists are... Alright, pause. In order to correctly address a mass of people of which character and persona is unknown, one must insert all possible variables to ensure its validity. As follows, The feminists I know Personally... Some Feminists... What I believe the general feminist views to be consist of... God I love logic. On another tip, from what I understand of the bible woman was to be loved like the church itself...A house is run by two heads; the time and culture they lived in was much of a patriarchy, though women had just as much power in their households as their husbands. So it was more appropriate to say that men are the representatives of a house. If the man wasnt doing so well it was a representation of the whole house whereas the wife could be unemployed or at home and no one downed that fact. *puts on some music* you gotta C-Walk to this...

*points it out again* Fallacy, ladies and gentlemen, is apparent when trying to use the same set of information for a select group is used for a larger group, in Exact. Which means to say, simply, that you cant hope to label a group from the acts of the few. You dont deny that feminism has given women a sense of equality, but you want to completely focus on...what? Extremists? Extremists are like opinions and ****...Theyre everywhere. When some woman comes up with a view that focuses on bettering her gender and points out mans flaws you RUn to the conversation and decide to point out every sin anyone has ever made. Keep sh*t in context, everyones f*cked up, big deal. Some people actually feel hopeless and youre telling this people not to listen to someone who could instill a fire in their heart to become the next MLK??? Martin Luther King Jr, by some whites, is percieved as a black extremist because of his wish for equality by instilling the mindset in Blacks of equality. Now because someone heard his speech and goes out screaming "Thats right you cracka **** crackas" and kills someone doesnt make MLK Jr a bad man. People are just like it. Get over yourself.

Ladies I'll have to apologize for Demmeri, he really doesnt know any better. Oh, and about the men and women being two heads of a household... youre so old school. Alot of the translations of the text do point to what you speak of: Men being the head. However, A head means nothing without a body (the church) so it would be safe to say that they are equally important. Equally. But hey, keep arguing your point about male superiority in the bible, im sure some woman will be drooling over you by the time youre done. :lol:

i dont think he'll ever get the point. let's try this... are the black panthers and M.L. King the same just because they were for the same cause: equality? i dont think so. the black panthers were extremists. just like SOME feminists are. how would you like someone to automatically form an opinion or degrade you just because you are a black man? in my opinion, almost all women are feminists. if you stand for equality than you are a feminist. the history is important, but it's history. all feminists aren't extremists. there are many complications on this topic. im gonna ned for you to have an open mind. you are just so ignorant sometimes it's funny.
