Most people think that I'm shy, but I'm not. I'll talk to who I feel like. I don't feel like talking to you, you won't be talked to. If I don't feel like looking at you, you won't be looked at. Being shy comes down to feeling socially inadequate. Personally, when I'm giving a speech, I want all eyes on me. That can't be shy, can it?

Quiet - rather be a listener than an opinionator, doesnt tend to start a conversation, but has no problem engaging in one and giving their opinions and $.02, usually like to take things in and listen to others
Cosign......I'm a great example of that. I'm not shy for the most part, I just think I'm very selective when it comes to talking.

Now I know you are not sayin that you are quiet, cuz we both know. I am shy, but in no way am I quiet. I talk a bit, but I cannot express my feelings well. That's where my shyness comes in. There's a bit more, but I don't feel like typin it

yeah there is a difference people call me quiet sometimes. sometimes i dont feel like sayin sh!t especially if i don't wanna get to know that person. sometimes i just be in chill mode and don't wanna be doing too much. I'm far from shy though. I'm the entertainer of the group and family. I aint scared to act a fool in front of anybody (that could be a minus).

mmm yeah there is a big difference between shy and quite ... I am a very quiet person usually when I am not around people I am comftorable with or people I dont know but I am shy when I just dont feel right with someone its hard to explain for me but for the most part I am pretty mellow ... unless I get worked up about something I am passionate about

If im with people im comfy with i am mellow and my usual self. In unfamilar situations I tend to be quiet and get a feel for my surroundings and the people. Some people mistake this for shyness

Yeah, there is a difference. For me, being quiet means engaging in short coversations in certain moments or making little or no noise, and being shy means drawing back from others, either because of a withdrawn nature or out of timidity. Some people think that I am shy, but I'm not; I'm far from it. I consider myself as a laid-back individual who has little to say at times. I'm really not afraid to say what's on my mind. It's just that I'd rather listen and absorb information most of the time, rather than talk a lot. That's mainly why I don't post a lot of messages on this site.
