I posted this in another forum but I wanna make sure that everybody reads it. The U.S. Justice Department has decided to reopen the Emmett Till case. Due to new eyewitness testimony they have reason to believe that there were more than the originally two tried white men who had confessed to the crime. Guess we can have some faith in our legal system yet.
That's funny because I was just watching a documentary on Emitt Till. It such a shame that it took all these years for there to be hope on this case. I'mnot going to get my hopes up high because I'm not so sure that he will get the justice that he deserves. They don't teach about Emitt Till in none of the schools I attended either. I just read about him in a magazine and decided to research more.
I'm not either. Even if guilty parties are tried and convicted it doesn't change the fact that many people are ignorant to the struggle that continues today. They may go to jail, but the legacy of racism and racial inequality that bred them will still remain. It is only after we have conquered that will Till and all the other countless victims have the justice that they so dearly deserve.

i read an article that said the guilty parties are ****. i dont understand wat they plan to do w/ this case. there is no one to prosecute. someone help me out and explain.

The two main parties are ****, but new evidence suggest that as many as 10 people were involved in the crime. The investigation will focus on finding the other guilty parties and finding out exactly what happened.
Thanks for bringing this up fam. I read the paper everyday but I seem to have missed this. All I can say is with time and research a lot of things will be uncovered about the past. I think it is great that this case is being looked at again it is something that every person should know about espescially my man who just got out of jail for dang near the same thing, whats his name?
They was saying something about the lady who pointed Emitt Till out to her white husband who was involved with the killing. They're going to sentence her or something, cause sum new eyewitness came forward or something.
I KNOW THEY NEED TO DO SOMETHING BECAUSE THOSE TWO MEN WERE NEVER PUNISHED FOR THE MURDER OF EMITT TILL!!
