Bush talks about God, but he has forgotten the point
of prophetic Christianity is compassion and justice
for those who have least. Hip-hop has the anger that
comes out of post-industrial, free-market America, but
it lacks the progressiveness that produces
organisations that will threaten the status quo. There
has not been a giant since King, someone prepared to
die and create an insurgency where many are prepared
to die to upset the corporate elite. The Democrats are spineless.
One day I'll be on Dr. West level. My mom used to hand out with him back in their college days. Apparently he was and still is to a degree one cool **** intectual (and from what she tells me the life of the party back then).
Anyway... on to the bolded. West said quite a bit but this statement right here is what stuck out to me the most. Whoever steps up will be a marked man as well as his followers but I don't think anybody will till something so bad happens we become too rattled out of complacency to settle back in and will feel compelled to put our lives on the line.
He's too black oriented, he would never win primaries.

I wouldn't even waste my time with the wishful thinking when you still have people who would vote him down just because he IS Black oriented.
I mean, hell, every republican is rich-folks oriented (read: WHITE), but you see 'other' people vote for them because they masquerade themselves as "Christians".
