Another homecoming has gone by and we are left to reflect on the good the bad and the ****.
The Good: It was relatively drama free, minus a fight or two.
The Bad: Everything was so d@mn expensive.
The ****: The travesty in scoring. How is there a virtual repeat of last years results. I think that my sorors, and my bruhs, The Phirst Fam owned the show. The creativity was absolutely unmatched. Technically sound and entertaining as hell. Granted the women's competition was much tighter against the reigning champs, but come on now. If you step with a candy cane, then be tight with it. Don't fumble it. The most Noble Lords pointed that out with the quickness. Oh and come with some originality (word has it, they stole that idea from the Ques). I demand a recount. Another show stolen from the original. '06
Now, I am a DELTA and DAM PROUD but I don't hate on other sisters!
I wasn't there but I have seen the video and My Opinion is that the Delta's deserved that win but however the Aka's hold their own. If it was the other way around, people will say the same. I have heard many people say both ways about the AkA's and the Delta's but the people didnt judge the show. There is always mouth after a stepshow about who should win or not................but all in all it was the judges decision.
Now, I am not here putting no one down or trying to start any drama...that's not my style but I too remember when we felt we should have won against the Aka's at NSU, but we didn't and we held our hands high and accepted it and came back next year with the best stepshow ever...............so I say to all ...............
Accept it and stop complaining and come back next year with a VENGEANCE!!!
I am not just talking about the AKA's.....I am talking about all because at one time we did it ourseleves.................so don't this note to heart...........not trying to offend anyone!
The AKA's did have the crowd but it is not just based on the loudest of the performance....I judge stepshows all the time and it has many catergories to score...........I think the Originality was what the Delta's had and they came hard just as the AKA's. I think they both did a good job but someone had to be first and that was us.
Congrats to ALL.....................especially the OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO_OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!
The Delta chair thing was their saving grace. Even then I had it a close win for yall AKAs. Could have gone either way, wasn't corrupt or dissapointed with the winner.

Yeah I'm not too mad, the chair thing was mystifying. It was definitely close, but I don't see too much of a conspiracy here... unlike other competition-based homecoming events lol, but I digress...
dang was EVERYBODY at Howard's stepshow, lol. But anyway...
I think all the greeks did well. I dont think the Alpha's were robbed. I actually think they did better last year. They lost me when they started stepping with canes :???:
The AKA's were good...congrats to the Deltas
Alright..."momma" gotta speak up on this.
First, no disrespect, but, that chiar thing in Junior High is a whole lot different when you do it in college or as instructed via the internet.
I was not there(HU SS) this year but, I was last year and I HAVE to say that the Alpha's got robbed. My inside peeps...a host of "sons" and "daughters" say that the ALPHA'S got jacked again this year. I believe them.
Now, I know some Delta "hatin" AKA's and some AKA "hatin" Deltas...and I know some Zeta's and some RHO's...the DELTA'S won this round. I take the ballots of this cast of thousands who told "momma" who won.
Now, I will say when you see the AKA's from the Southern schools step as in The BAYOU Classic then THAT's a whole nuther story...the DELTA'S hold court but it is a tough fight and absolute FAIR judging to the end. The AKA's have won fo a few years now.
The Kappa's are cry babies on the easy coast. Now, there, I said it. They complain an act like little-little girls...never seen anything like it.
The California Kappa's...my daddy (you Know!!!) and the southern Kappa's are more "manned-up" and don't whine and cry cause somebody is in there chair (Kappa's callin "security" to move college freshwomen out of there empty seating section at the HU step show last year).
The west coast Kappa's and the easy coast Kappa's are night and day. Our Kappa's out west fist fight the police...they ain't never cried! They even had a boat dance on the bay where there was no cryin...just nigs and bullets flyin...they like a local..they ain't all tryin to keep a brother out of the party cause they scared he might pull their chicks
Oh, back on topic...the Step Show was waayyy too expensive...Way!
I done prolly said too much...had cocktails with my girlfriends after we snuck otta work...
What do you know about the Classic??? Gurl where are you from?? (just joking with you) I never miss it!!! Southern Greek Step Shows are the best. (I miss the South so much  :smt089 ) Southern shows are different from any other (not saying better but different). My sister, some friends, and myself recently went to Southern Universtiy's homecoming their GSS was amazing. :smt041
OH YEA MAN!!! I went to Southern University's (Baton Rouge) Homecoming a couple years ago and it was off the chain!!! 8) I had so much fun. That was what made me want to go to an HBCU and not a PWI! HBCU's are better anyway. But that's just my opinion :-D
dang was EVERYBODY at Howard's stepshow, lol. But anyway...

KLANE:
Gurl...we have some deep family ties to Grambling. I also have family who currently go there. My work takes me to many of the HBCU's too.
We also have close family ties at Southern so the Classic is a big deal for our family.
That said...NO stepshow period, dot, compares to ANY southern GSS...Holla!!!!! The utter detail, smooth flow between word and music...the attire...the environment...the GREEKS...the precision, surprise, the WOW, WOW, WOW factor is second to none.
I am glad that ya'll spoke up...I thought I had a secret...
In this lifetime you gotta go to a Southern GSS...word.
You know to win the honors to STEP...COMPETE at The BayouClassic means you doin' real big things. Real big things.
And, what kills me is that the GSS down South are only $5.00!!!!!!!!
(maybe that's my discount...laugh)
