Is it just me or does it seem like most HBCUs is located by the projects? If that is true...why is that?

..cuz its cheaper to build in the pj"s
i thought they built the colleges first, then the PJs. I think the universities just dont have the means to support their surrounding neighborhoods. I mean USC and Yale were at there locations before the poor people came, so. Howard has been in its spot since 1867, did they even have housing projects back then? O and, LA is the SH**! lol
' True they didn't make HBCU's in the projects, they put them where they could be best accessed by the African American community. It is unfortunate that it seems that everwhere we go we bring trouble but that's my theory of what happend with the neighborhoods surrounding the HBCU's.

Most HBCU's are in the projects or ghetto because back in the old days like 1887 and 1913 when some HBCU's were built, you had white neighorhoods and blk neighborhoods, and when ppl went to teach they mostly taugh outta their homes or churches and if you were blk you weren't gonna go to a white neighborhood to go to church, so eventually those homes and churches turned to schools and the neighborhoods around them stayed the same... with blk ppl.... so thas why

Yep. They just put the schools where the black community was. Sadly, those communities haven't developed into much more than the "projects."

I think unlike other HBCU's....JSU actually bought out homes from home owners in tha ghetto and built tha university...cuz ain't no way in hamburger hell it's tha ghetto around JSU and you got whinos constantly just wandering on campus!!!!!!!!!!!!
