Being on the woman in ABC's campaign team may be too blatant and indiscrete, so I suggest you proceed with caution.
I was just about to say something along these lines. At my undergrad, freshmen were always getting caught up this way. They thought that they were getting cool points by helping on a sorority's members campaign to be homecoming queen. They would be out on the yard, holding the member's signs and telling people about her platform. Problem is, everyone knew that these girls were interest and, ninety-nine percent of the time, they were not chosen since all of their business was put on blast.
Your best bet might be to chill...
Go.
Just because some **** sees it as "dishonorable" or whatever, doesn't mean it is. What could possibly harm you by sitting down at an informational? I mean, this is to decide what is best for YOU. Get your information. If then, you still want to join ABC, that only proves what was the original hypothesis in the beginning.
ABC is the org best for you.
In my personal opinion, I would say that you should help your friend since she helped you. Besides that what real friends do. If you ditch your friend to help the member of ABC, then, like Chief Pharoah said, things may not turn out the way you would like. You may lose your friend and not get into the organzation. So you would lose both ways. But, hey, you never know what will happen. Just follow your heart! :smt049
I gotta agree..... u gotta help ya friend. She asked you FIRST and you accepted it FIRST. Jus think about the situation if the shoe was on the other foot. How would u feel if ya friend did sum ish like that to u?? Jus gotta think about it.
This IS true, but I as stated earlier I didn't know the other two were running because I knew "Ms. ABC" ever since I first got here and I would DEF. choose her over "my friend" NOT because she is affliated with ABC(although that is a perk) but because of who she is, and I feel she deserves the position and would be the best to serve the school. And NOT trying to be mean BUT I really don't think my friend has a chance against these two ladies. I guess the way I asked the question it made it seem like I really didn't know "Ms. ABC" but it is QUITE the contrary. But the real reason I think it would be best for me to be on "Ms. ABC"s team is because her and her campaign manager(s) are being VERY selective about who they let on and invite...like they actually "watch" people to see if that is really someone that they want representing her and ask around about them and unlike most of the other members on team she PERSONALLY asked me to be apart because she knows I have "connections" with SGA and most of the freshman class. My friend, on the other hand, is really being like "WHATEVER" with hers whoever wants to be on can be on, no kind of process, WHATSOEVER, she doesn't even care if you know her, which I feel is NOT a good sign. Friend or no friend, I DO NOT represent people who aren't "ON POINT" because people are going to remember that and later on down the line...say... next year if I decide to run for something else say... Queen of Orange and Green I really can't afford for my name to be attached to a sloppy campaign...
