your black history? Posted on 03-01-2006
Hahaha

i was watching PBS alll throughout black history month and dat got me to thinkin'... where's ya family from? do you know how they got here? do you know of any obstacles they had to face to get to where they and you was going? dis any of your family members have thier own "rosa parks" story? sit down with one of your elder family members and find out all you can about your family's history...remember, we're all here because somebody sacraficed and survived oppression...and fought to make a better life for us...that scholorship you got couldn't have been possible had not your grandmother's grandmother got spit in the face by that ****...you'd not even be able to sit in the same resturant as dem crackers had it not been for the black church, and a couple of liberal, radical whites from the north....seriously, think about the sacrafices prior generations have made for us....man we really take it for granted, man... this is all i know: my dad's side of the family started out as slaves brought over from africa (possibly modern day angola or gahana because that's where many slaves who came through charleston harbour got here)...brougth oever here before 1820...serves on plantations in throughout orangeburg and the lowlands of SC.....i'm suspect they were mostly houseslaves because i remember at my family reunion most everybody in my family is short...and what good is a short cat out in dem fields? but anyways, many of the cats from my dad's side still live in SC...and i suspect there are many short black folk out here in SC that might be related to me...possibly...anyways, despite opppression from this country, my dad served 20 years in the military and was a tech teacher making like 52 grand a year...he was raised in NYC..now lives in africa because he joined some cult...btu he was a successful man in america, despite all that was up aginst him... moms side is from haiti...french slaves from sierra leone because that's where the french got it's carribean slaves from...my grandad immigigrted here from haiti in th 50s, and despite all that was up against him, was able to take care of 5 kids...3 of which went to college...all sucessful....my uncle the 4th, lives in a 7 bedroom house in AZ, and my mom has served in the military, and now is kicking **** at walmart...she actually gets paid pretty decently and lives off her military check too so she aight...but thery're pretty sucessful oevrall....none on crack or on ****...ect ect.... yeah, so that's all i know.
