RELIGION USED TO MEAN A LOT TO BLACK PEOPLE BUT THEY LOST THEIR DAMN MINDS AND NOW THEY DOING THEIR OWN THING
I PERSONALLY DONT BELIEVE THAT I CAN MAKE IT DAY BY DAY WITHOUT A HIGHER POWER
MY QUESTION IS HOW ARE YOU GOING TO BELEIVE IN GOD AND NOT HIS WORD? THATS A QUESTION BUT IT DOESNT MATTER
YOU KNOW U MENTION THE BIBLE YEARS AGO BLACK PEOPLE READ THE WORD AND WENT BY IT OR TRIED TO AND MADE IT A POINT IN THEIR FAMAILIES TO READ AND KNOW THE WORD OF GOD
BLACK PEOPLE AR SOO FAAR GONE NOW IT JUST SAD
LIVING YA LIFE ALL WRONG AND THINK YOU GOING TO GET GOOD FROM THAT? WHAT! NAH NOT EVEN
IF YOU DONT BELEIVE IN GOD THATS YA BUSINESS DO YOU CALL HIM WHATEVER GOD ALLAH WHATEVER AS LONG AS U DO U I DO ME AND I BELIEVE IN A HIGHER POWER I MYSELF struggling with Sickle cell know its someone out there allowing me to live and helping me and givng me strength havent been sick in awhile and I know I m not the one doing it.
It certain things you dont know or understand everything isnt going to have a meaning sometimes things just are
Giniacuty_757, I agree with one thing that you said. "I PERSONALLY DONT BELIEVE THAT I CAN MAKE IT DAY BY DAY WITHOUT A HIGHER POWER", but in my opinion, God is that higher power, not the Bible. Just because I don't believe in the Bible, does not mean that I reject God. Also, I won't go as far as calling the Bible "God's word". Technically, its man's word. I just don't feel right stakin' my whole being on something that I don't understand or even know if its true. Until I can find a better understanding of the teachings within the book, I refuse to live my life by it. Its a personal choice, and I wouldn't expect a lot of ppl, especially devout Christians, Catholics, etc, to understand, but it is MY CHOICE. That whole "Leap of Faith" just don't cut it for me.

Actually to be more correct, God IS the word(John: 1-2). And another thing, the Bible is considered the God inspired word that man just so happened to write.
Great topic! Here's my list:
~ creation myth
~ Noah's ark
~ the devil
~ virgin birth
~ god's 360 attitude in the New Testament
~ water to wine
~ rising from the ****
~ the trinity (although this seems to be more interpretation than actual text)
...The list goes on for me.

From the Bible...that man wrote..."inspired" by God...
