Thanks you guys! I'm most definitely going to Howard, but I have to make sure that the money is right. I'm being forced to take the ACT again to see if I can't squeeze some more money out of Howard. As of now my highest score was 28....apparently if I get a point higher I'll qualify for paid tuition, room & board, and something else.
I was wondering about housing though. Of course I'll be staying on campus but there isn't a place for me to request, the Annex, Fraizer, Truth, etc. Do they just put you somewhere randomly??? All I see is a space for on campus housing, satellite, etc. Am I missing something

Nope there isn't a spot on the form they send you...
but my sources say that if you write what your preference is on the paper and then call the housing and "politely request consideration" you should be in good shape...

You can try and do what iRep504 suggested but as far as I know they just put you somewhere. No, boo...you can't request a certain dorm. Sorry, lol
But most top scholarship females are placed in the Annex (I think) and most top scholarship males are placed in Drew and Cook.

What's so special about the Annex? All I saw on the site is that it has a kitchenette, but are the rooms bigger? can you get a single room or a suite there?

I dont think the Annex has singles, only suite style so you will definitely have a roomate if you stay there. And most people think the Annex is better because it's newer, has suites, a cafeteria and kitchenettes. Some people think the Quad is better. It just all depends on personal preference.
^^^^ So far one of the freshman HU girls told me that its only crandall and truth that have a/c but that would be cool if they did have it for the other 3 dorms.........rkfl...the girls say they like the annex because there is a/c and more privacy and they dont have communal bathrooms.....Ill make do with whatever I get but I prefer a big double....
Truth, if you send in the housing application and enrollment fee early do you get a response earlier than others or do they send them out the same time as everyone else?

The Department of Residence Life tends to work a little bit more efficiently than the Office of Admissions, lol. If I were you I would do it quickly anyway, especially if Howard is your first choice. Housing is scarce around these parts...
