Maybe not to people in cali but in other parts of the country, you may sound proper to them...like my friend most people up here don't think she talks proper at all, but when she went to the south (i can't remember where) all they kept saying was how proper and white she sounded...

That's true, but we do have the most preferred accent (that's what my speech teacher said.....didn't really know what she was referrin to) :grin:

according to people from da south, just about everybody sound proper except for dem...dat aint bad tho...
