Hm. I guess it depends on what you consider bad. Are you from the suburbs or are you accustomed to the city type scene? I was asking if you were bringing your car because you will probably prefer it to travel considering not much is within walking distance of the school. BUT, when you go, you will probably ride around the area, and right off the main street there will be a bridge, and once you cross that bridge you are in the ghetto without a doubt.
Petersburg-
--Has one of the most popular malls/shopping centers in the surrounding area; Southpark Mall. That pretty much all i can say about Petersburg
but Richmond is right around the corner. i don't know why bison boy's brother would say it was boring?? there is PLENTY to do in Richmond for EVERYONE.
--the clubs are very popular [club 534, hyperlink, have a nice day cafe etc.] usually something is going on every weekend there.
--downtown itself is full of history playing a major part in the civil war. Virginia Union and VCU are in the same area. We have the James River, Shockoe Bottom, Koniwaza Plaza, ooo and Friday at Sunsets is the bestt!!
- but just be sure to come down here and check it out yourself and talk to some of the locals. there is always something to do in the area as long as you have an open mind. i don't know your personality so i can't make the decision on whether you'd like it or not. Hope i helped!!
*oh and i don't go there, my hun is a sophomore there and so i've spent an ample amount of time at State, and i live about 20 mins away from the school :x
Im super late on responsding to this, but I've read all of the posts, and know that the anticipation i was feeling for you all, was about 1/8 of what you guys wee feeling.
On another note Congrats! I hope you will all enjoy the colleges you choose to go to.
oh and if anyone was wondering im only a sophomore, so i havent done the applying process and what not yet, but i have been continously contacted by Spelman, NYU, Howard, and other schools about checking out their schools, and the programs they offer over the summer.
(Although I am only a sophomore, believe the fact that i have been continously checking out multiple colleges, and their scholarship programs considering I am a 4.0 average student with 178 credits already =] )
No its not a typo lol...
I go to a 4x4 block scheduled school...
uhm its a charter law highschool you could search it up online or whatnot.
most schools have 78 credits right now. =[
wow.. confusing.. but damn. im going to graduate with like 30 credits. only need 22 for atlanta public schools. but it seems like you'll be well prepared for college.
I only need 23 credits to graduate in NC and as of now I have 23.5 credits so technically speaking if I got lazy and failed each and every class this semester I would still walk at graduation lol Of course I'm not at all going to stoop to such levels of stupidity. How in the world does 170+ credits work out anyway??? You'd have to have taken like 45 credits worth of classes each semester.
Okay out in cali where i stay at,
to graduate highschool you need around 200 something credits,
not positive the exact number, ill find out at school tomorrow.
and i as a sopomore have 127+ which means i can graduate a year early if i keep it up.
