Girl dont tell me what to ask! I can ask anything I want to .. And find out whatever I want to! .. U R NOT the only resource to OES! .. Who cares who u r connected to .. It still doesnt change my opinion .. As of now I DO NOT want to become apart of this organization .. But I was just sayin that ur comment was generally ignorant for someone who may have been interested .. Yes there is a way of discussing it .. Simply not saying anything about it .. I do it alllllllllllllllllllllllllll the time
you'd actually be suprised bout how many people are curious about OES and Masons....and I know a lot of greeks that are masons or oes...from what i've herad, there is a connection between the 2.
 Yup sure is. Many greek founders were Stars and Masons, i know mine are. I'm kind of interested in joining but i don't have any family that is one b/c my grandmother and grandfather got out of it and a cousin doesnt count so ive heard. But what i dont understand is how can OES have secrets if its a religious organization.
OES is not a religious organization, neither is freemasonry. This is a big misconception that many people have especially some churches. There has been a very close relationship of the church and freemasonry because of the plight of black people in this country since slavery until now. There are spiritual and religious aspects of it no doubt. There are many greeks involved in it especially sigmas and zetas for obvious reasons. Can't forget the kappas also there a bunch of them in as well.
Ohhhhhh, i See. yeah, u are right, there are many Sigmas and Zetas in it. I was talking to an older woman the other day and she's an OES and she told me she knows 30 Zetas in her lodge.

Many people associate Masonry with religion, because of the words of Alfred Pike, often considered the father of freemasonry in America. He said "if masonry is not a religion, then what is it?" Also, can you explain the connection between masonry, the church, and the plight of Black people? Masonry is not a Black thing. Masons come in all colors. As a matter of fact, it was not uncommon for a Black mason to be lynched by a white mason back in the day. The prince Hall masons are historically the Black masons, although there are Black masons in the Scottish Rite and other groups of Masons. A lot of people refer to the greek founders as masons and Eastern Stars. But it was never taught to me that my founders were Eastern Stars first. As a matter of fact, I doubt that they were, considering their age at our founding and the traditional ages of Eastern Stars and Masons of that time period.

How old were they and what were the tradional ages of masons and stars

My founders were between the ages of 18 and 20. Eastern Stars and Masons were usually older than that during this time period. And again, I received, nor could I find any information saying that my founders were members of OES. I can't speak for others' founders, though. I also can't say that they didn't eventually become members of OES later. But at the time of Delta's inception, none were members of OES.
Since I am a Prince Hall mason I think I have this topic down to a science, Number 1 Albert Pike was not a spokesperson for freemasonry and he never claimed he was. To take one quote from one of his works and to generalize is incorrect. Once again it is not a religion. Black students were usually older back then and in some states the age requirements for being a mason was 18 especially in the south. An eastern star could be 18 years old in some cases since it required a bloodline relation to a mason to be one, so that negates your age theory. You should do so more research because you have quite a few holes in your presentation. And yes the greek organizations were modeled after freemasonry, but suited for the college students
