Since there's been mad posts about what first attracts you to a dude, let's flip it around... instead of what first gets your attention, what keeps it? Once you meet a guy, what lets you know he's someone you would want to get to know more about? And the other way around - what would immediately turn you off? Just curious. Holla!

attractive 2 me: I luv an intelligent brotha!!! one that can make me laugh, but at the same time can be serious if the time calls for it, have some common interest: like reading, watching movies, going out. unattractive 2 me: a dude that is too condesending or conceited, I don't know why but I can't stand that in a person let alone a guy i'm interested in and I really hate someone that is ignorant

first off...if i can conversate with a guy for more than 30 minz talking about any and everything..he has my undivided attention..im a female that loves to talk..you name it..i'll talk..so that is a definite "attention-keeper" when it comes to guys  Another attention keeper is when a guy doesn't gossip and talk about past relationships after the first convo..i mean..i do eventually want to know what your other girlfriends were like..but i dont want to make that comparison so soon..feel me :?: :?: Immediate turn offs:  the whole "floss till i die" attitude..enough said  When i call him up and he's either about to get high/**** or is high/**** or fantasizing about getting high/****  When the compliments start getting down right pathetic "you know what? you have pretty arm hair" ..(sad to say..true story) :? last but not least  A GUY WHO IS TOO CLINGY

Keeps my attention: as long as he can keep me laughing, respects me, knows how to have an intellectual conversation, and most importantly...he needs to understand me. If he has those simple qualities then he's a keeper. Loses my interest: Has no goals for the future, close minded, negatively influenced by others and cant think for himself, doesnt respect my opinions, always has to be right...I cant stand a dude who is too arrogant and egotistical to admit when he is wrong.
Cosigns...u said it

Holds My Attention: He has to be able to LISTEN! He has to be true to himself (and me). He doesn't have to be a comedian but the brother has to have some kind of personality. Loses My Attention: When he is lame and tries to be fly as hell. When he is arrogant, insensitive and possesive (let me breath!) Also I don't like men who talk to much and spread rumors.

These are all good and all but what about God? Wouldn't some of you want the guy to have some kind of spiritual background? :?

I guess you are right. He shouldn't be spiritual. You go to TSU? Do you know my cousin Janis Jefferson(she's either a junior or senior) or my friend Melissa Smith?

Of course. I just see that as something's that's understood. I mean, if you can't make time for God, then don't even worry about me. It's funny b/c in that statement, I can see how I've matured over the past few years. It's crazy. Anyway...
