I'm thinking of changing my major from Business Management to Political Science with a possible minor in sociology. Ya'll have helped me to discover a passion
Seriously though, Business was just something I said as I knew I would have to eventually learn how to manage a business once I took over my dad's club, but the more I thought about it, I realized that a business degree does not necessarily equate you with running your own business and politics was what I had been leaning to for a while, especially considering that I knew that I wanted to go to law school. And Hampton's tradition of putting so many African Americans into Law School, it all just seemed to fit.
Anyways, for all the upper classmen, how many times did you change your major is you ever have and if so why?
and for the freshmen, what is your major and why did you choose it?
I will be attending FAMU in the Fall of '08, and I'll be majoring in Sociology w/ a minor in Political Science, and I also want to go to law school, although I'm not sure which one I'll go to. But I have plenty of time for that...but I took an Intro To Sociology class last year in the 11th grade & I LOVED IT (i liked it SO much better than Psych!), so I declared it my major, while my minor will help w/ legal-related topics (I may change it to Pre-Law, but I have until junior year @ FAM to decide on that). I already know what classes I have to take all 4 years, & I'm not looking forward to the math & science classes (my 2 most-hated subjects, LOL!), but I don't have too many because of my Social Science major & minor, so I'm pretty straight. The most popular majors @ FAM are Engineering, Journalism/Graphic Design, Business, & Pharmacy, but there are PLENTY of other great majors! Get @ me if you attend FAMU, plan to attend FAMU in '08, and/or if you major or minor in Sociology at FAMU!!!!
was an english major but changed to advertising and marketing...writing was more of a hobby than anything but marketing is what i want as a career. its a very versatile degree to have. i mean you can't tell me one sector of the business world that doesn't involved some kind of marketing...its what makes the world go round
I was in Equestrian Studies/Animal Science at my old school in upstate NY. I was in the Equestrian Club at my old high school, and it inspired somewhat, a desire to equestrian veterinary care. But I'm back in the city trying to that Biochemistry, and if THAT doesn't work out, I might just just do Zoology or Psychology.
