do you know how much money black schools could make off of this.. i dunno about everyone elses school but jsu does not do it... I know colliseum has a black college line now where they sell hats, jerseys and stuff. If HBCU's had their school's franchised and had companies like starter, nike, and reebok making their gear, they would make a lot of money.... Especially HOWARD U. since HOWARD IS BASICALLY CONSIDERED TO ME THE MECCA OF ALL BLACK COLLEGES.. a lot of cats would rock howard jerseys just because.... then i could buy jsu stuff wherever i go not just at school and surrounding area.... it would be nice to go to a mall in some other stuff and see my jersey being sold or something like that..
Pimptight... I see where you coming from... but we don't market it from a sports standpoin..rock it from an urban gear standpoint.. same way they do girbauds and phatfarm.... i think it would work.... if i get the backing i will do it one day

Exactly what I was about to say....if I see someone who has on a jersey from my school, but doesn't go there, I would be like cool. Wouldn't bother me the least bit
For any of y'all that have found Howard 'nalia in your town, LET ME KNOW.. cuz niccas be foolin w/ the price in the bookstore, and the foot lockers around me ran out of the Howard, Southern, Grambling, and FAMU jersey/hat combos.. HU is doing a serious disservice to itself by not doing better marketing of their stuff... I mean, if we could make enuff noise about it, get some WELL KNOWN people rocking stuff, we could force the White consumers to give their kids money to buy our shyt... I mean, when Manny Fresh went to an award show in the Grambling Jersey/Fitted set, niccas went out and bought that stuff QUICK.. but the thing is, we aren't making it easy on ourselves to promote this stuff.... @ HU, people MAKE their own shirts (which are hot to def.. like Miskeen, but almost better) and that has been our way of getting people to know about our skool... you HU heads might remember when Brock (lil man from chi-town) was making EVERYBODY's shirts... we need to make these lil' hustles BIG THINGS.. knawimean?

U got a point about how HBCU's should rep their school more with gear. I know at Tuskegee we got the basketball jersey's, running outfits, and some shoes. The problem we got is that the stuff cost too much. I heard the jersey cost almost a 100 dollars. And i must admit, i'm a little too cheap to buy even the 13 dollar t-shirts
The #1 problem with HBCU marketing, is that students on campus wear the jerseys of Duke, UNC, Michigan, UCLA, LSU, FSU, Miami, Syracuse, Texas, Oklahoma, Notre Dame etc, etc.
As I am quick to remind students at NCCU, you will not go on Duke's campus and see one of their students rocking an NCCU jersey (unless they come from NCCU); so why be so accomodating to their marketing machine?
