dating YOUNGER guys... Posted on 08-04-2004
La

DO yall mind dating a guy that is younger than you, or it doesnt matter??? Me...I prefer someone who is older. I dont really feel comfortable dating a guy that is younger than me. If we were born the same year but my birthday comes first I dont mind...But I just feel uncomfortable with the idea of dating someone who is more than a year younger than me...I mean, if he is the love of my life and younger than me I of course aint gonna let him go over that. Thats petty. But right now in my life I couldnt see myself dating a guy younger than me, cause as we know...men mature slower than women, and I just dont think we would be on the same level...but maybe when I get into my twenties and Im interested in a man in his twenties younger than me, I may be more willing to pursue it then. But I will always prefer a man older than me.

I don't think age should matter.. Sure there are a lot of immature 18 year olds..but there are a lot of immature 25-30 year olds.. Crossing someone off the list because they are 2-3 years from the age that you prefer without really knowing them isn't fair..
True True.

@ EnTice...lol...I didn't feel like quoting Naw I haven't completely ruled out older men...I guess all I've had approach me was bad examples...you know the dudes in the club, on the Metro (subway) stuff like that...u know the scary ones or the fake pimps. I mean if a decent older dude approached me and I was single I would probably give him the time of day...but all the ones I've met just seemed to fit in the categories I stated in my previous post.
lol  yeah i'd stay away from them too!

The older the better...for one females mature way faster than males and when u date someone older he's more to ur level. he has more experience with relationships...maybe....I just can't stand to date an immature young boy. I've been there and although I really liked him a lot he was just too immature for me. He could be so irrating. So now I chose to date older men. and I said MEN not lil boys.

I absolutely hate when females say that. How you mature has nothing to do wether you are male/female. It's how you think and how you portray yourself. I know just about as many females as I do males who are older than I am but still act like a little teeny bopping idiot.

That may be true...but generally speaking....if ya like it or not.....females mature faster than males. But everyone is entitled to their own opinions. This is my opionion from my experience.

i've only gone out with someone younger than me once and it was a few years ago. we were only a grade apart. but he was stuck on this "i'm a **** and i can have any girl i want" mentality, so we didn't work. but i recently talked to a guy who was several years older than me and he was talking to me like he knew everything about life and how it's supposed to be lived so that didn't work either. so for me it just takes getting to know somebody. i've thought that certain guys would be ok because of their age and then that's not the case.

for me most guys are younger than me...I was born in January of '84. Most guys that I have talked to were in the same grade/class as me. I've never really gone past the two years my senior mark. It's just happened that way for me.
