I REALLY want to go to either Hampton or Howard, but I have to get at least full tuition and fees. I got a 1260 on the SAT1, a 28 (29 if you take my best score), 610 on the SATII Writing, 630 on the SATII chemistry, 680 on the SATII math1c, and a 4.26 GPA. Can someone PLEASE tell me how much scholarship I'm eligible for. I've applied to Hampton already and I'm getting ready to send off my Howard application.
Honestly, I think that for your major Howard is the best place for you.
Finally, an honest opinionated person...now if you had said english, I would have pointed you in the diection of the Harbor.....see, I can suport other HBCUs
Honestly, with your scores and GPA....I would be trying to Ivy League ( Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Cornell, Columbia, Dartmouth, Penn, Brown....take ya pick ) ...but thats just me personally..but between Hampton and Howard...I would choose Howard.
DOES ANYONE THAT GOES TO HOWARD KNOW THE DIFFERING FACTOR THAT ALLOWS YOU TO GAIN MORE SCHOALRSHIP MONEY. IS THERE A CERTAIN SAT OR GPA THAT IS NEEDED TO GET A BETTER PACKAGE BECAUSE ON THE WEBSITE ALL IT SAYS IS THAT TO BE ELIGIBLE YOU NEED AN 1170. DO YOU NEED A REALLY HIGH SAT SCORE ( 1350) AND GPA (3.8) TO GET LIKE THE FOUNDERS OR CAPSTONE FRESHMAN SCHOALRHIPS. JUST WONDERING BECAUSE MY SAT IS 1240 ND GPA IS A 3.7.

Yeah, there is a score difference...the higher you SAT or ACT along with your GPA (unweighted), the better the scholarship package. I have the founders and I think all you need it like a 1200 and something. They do not give you a scholarship just for your gpa. but if you are the Valedictorian of yoru class, you are automatically eligible to get the lowest scholarship, which is tuition being paid for.
Just a lil side note, Howard University enrolled THE MOST Achievement Scholars. 71 out of 1200. Holla at the REAL HU YO! Anybody need proof of this check out www.thehilltoponline.com
Honestly, you may benefit better from Howard because the school has a hospital of its own. Although, my brother graduated from Hampton as a biology major, went to medical school, and is now a cardiovascular surgeon, and is doin fine.
I said that to say this: both schools are good schools, and ultimately, it boils down to what u are looking for from a univeristy. My suggestion is that you visit both campuses, and see which one best fits you. Then, to get more money, use schools against each other. college isn't cheap.
