Both SWING and GROOVE are non-greek organizations. SWING entered into a 10 year hiatus period in the 80's, so some of our chapters have yet to be reactivated.
I find it hilarious that bothe Swing and Groove claim to have no Greek affiliation, yet they both use the Greek letter, Phi. Interesting.

If I am correct, the "PHI" in Groove Phi Groove and Swing Phi Swing have NOTHING to do with the Greek Alphabet. In fact, it is from another alphabet and has a definate meaning behind it. If I am wrong, any member of those two Black organizations please correct me.

^^^yep. The "Phi" was originally a KEMETIC(Ancient Egypt.....for the history impaired  ) symbol. It represents man and the cycle of life, and takes on a slightly different look than the greek version of "Phi". In the Kemetic symbol, the circle in the middle is smaller.....the circle is said to represent the ego of man and it's not supposed to be larger than the man (which is represented by the "I" looking formation). So, yep, both Swing and Groove are both non-greek......we're Black.

The "Phi" In Secrets of the Great Egyptians, Peter Thompkins tells us that the Khemit people of Ancient Egypt created "Phi" as a symbol of the creative function of the male reproductive system, and more loosely as "reproduction in endless series." It was a symbolic representation of "the fire of life." We adopted this symbol of fertility in our name to stand for our continual growth and development. Our "Phi" should in no way be confused with the Greek symbol "Phi," which takes on the same look but a totally different meaning.
http://www.groove-phi-groove.org/history.htm Plus, as a Greek, you would already know that the Greeks went to Africa and stole the writings, philosophies, and lifestyles of the Egyptians.

Greeks (meaning those of the divine 9) should not take offense to the truth when it’s out there. Don’t get angry with your brothers or sisters for restating it. If you are getting offended by it, then maybe you should ask yourself do you really know all of your history :?: .
Just for clarification, NOBODY knows ALL of their history. I promise you.
