I only know of one person who's pregnant but she no longer goes to my school (not b/c of the pregnancy, she got pregnant after she left). I mean I hear stories and all, but there aren't thatmany stories out there aboutwho's pregnant, here it's about who messed wit who at so-and-so's party...But I do remember goin to a fashion show freshman year at school and seein one of the seniors with her son and her baby daddy. Other than that, no pregnancies. Not that I know of...

At my school there isn't anyone pregnant. I'm a junior now, but my first two years there were maybe one or two girls who were pregnant. Most of the time my school makes them go to maternity school before they really start showing if their not seniors, so there could have been more. To me it's not anything really new because all except one of my aunts got pregnant in high school, my mom, and a lot of my cousins did too. Heck, one of my cousins decided she wasn't even going to wait until highschool she had her baby in elemantary school. Now looking at all these pregnancies it's a wonder that I'm not. But, I do understand some of the reasons that I was told why it happened. Two cases stand out in particular. They felt that was the only way that they would keep living without destroying themselves. It was a solution to their depression. Now many probably won't understand and it's even more complicated for me to explain, but I can say one thing it's the reason I'm here and I got a big brother out the deal too. My mom told me her story and I understood. True it's ashame that young girls are pregnant at such a young age, but we have to look at their situations. Now there are some girls who just have babies because they think that it's cute, but there are those other cases too. First I think we should educate ourselves and then set examples for our youth to show them that there are better things in life than what they know. Take time to show them that someone cares about what they're doing and that you want them too succeed. That's what I try to do for all my little cousins andanyone else that I know. I feel that it has worked and still is working for me. Just love the kids so they can grow to be more Chocolatetai411

I'm looking at a the situation another way, because regardless of the causes teen pregnancy is here to stay, its been around since the begining of time. The only thing we can do now is try to make the sitution better; however, I do agree that they should face the consequences of their actions. Like when a teen gets pregnant and their mother takes care of the baby and buy everything the baby need and let the real mother live the life that they threw away when they got pregnant. As a result the grandmother has another child to raise. I don't think that's right and if was a parent of a teen mother I wouldn't allow it to happen like that. At our school if you are a female and have a child you can't particapate in anything, but your baby daddy can do anything. If you are a girl and have a child you might as well forget about extracurricular activities, running for homecoming court, or doing anything the administration think may influence others. If they are going to go by doing it that way I feel that they have to be fair because it takes two to make a baby. They can do it one of two ways: 1. Allow both the parents to participate in activites as long as the baby is in the care of someone else why they are interacting with the club, group or team (like at practices or outtings). 2. Neither of the parents should be able to participate in any activities. Unless they will promote better parenthood. Our school has a daycare that is free (which only makes teens more careless) so i think they should have a club that promotes parenthood. This club could get teen fathers more involved in their child's/childrens' lives hopefully aiding in breaking the cycle of single parenthood. GP are you with me?
