I know they are a lot of hair post but think about it, hair Is an important issue to Black women. But my question is, how often do you wash you hair? This has been a controversial subject for us Black women for many years but how often do you truly feel we as as sistas should wash our hair. My mom use to say "Stop, washing you hair so damn much, you ain't White!" HEaven knows I don't want to be white but I just couldn't stand my hair to be dirty. Now I know it is out of the question to wash it everyday, unless you got that "other" kinda hair. But I feel the need to wash mine every week. I hate when my hair starts to overly smell like hair products and feels heavy. Any imput sistas.

every other week...if that. There is NO way i can wash my hair once a week, or any more than that. For 1, it is WAY too much work to wash my hair. Becuz of it's thickness, it's too time consuming to too big of a process to do on a regular on my own. Secondly, washing my hair that often would cause too much breakage. I don't put heavy gel or too many products in my hair other than Organic Root Stimulator and things that help condition it. The natural oils that black hair generates was designed to keep it healthy. Washing it too often dries it out and leads to breakage becuz of all the combing and detangling. I mean, everyone's hair is different, but unless i'm going to a shop on a regular (which i don't cuz i'm a poor college student), i don't wash it too often.
ok now here's a statement a can relate with cuz every1 else w.there once a week & every couple days, i was like damn - they must have a lot of free time cuz doin my hair is a PROCESS

When I used to have long hair, the girl that braided my hair would always wash mine when I had it braided. During the rare intervals when I'd have my hair down, ponytailed, or tied up for longer than a week, I'd wash my hair every Thursday morning in the shower. These days, I just wash it every Friday. Its not like I have enough hair to wash anyway.... I miss my hair.

wash mine everyday with conditioner(or no-poo routine), wash it twice a week with shampoo to clarify it..., do a hair masque once a month using avocado, egg yolk, lavender, and pure vitamin e oils and if i want to brighten it up a bit i add lemon juice in my shampoo.......and i have no problem with dryness...but yeah i take care of mines, cause i get split ends VERY easily ever since i turned natural
