It works both ways, as many men go ga-ga over the hourglass figure, seeing as wider hips are "supposedly" better for breeding.

I will not date light skinned men. We can be friends but I won't date them. Just me.

In high school I had a long list preferences. Now that I am in college and mature, all of those things are in the past. Someone comes your way and takes your breath away. And you never expected it to happen. Preferences yeah right? When chemistry takes over, it's a wrap.

The sad part is that a persons preference can get in the way of them finding someone. If all your focus is on the physical then that doesnt leave much room for you to learn anything else about people.
I couldn't agree with you more!! My aunt who is a sheltered (still live with my Nana) middle-aged woman who has God in her life and is nice-looking is not married, haven't married, and is still waiting on her prince charming!! (who happens to be light-skinned, fine curly hair, and light eyes) In the past my mom had tried to hook her up with men who have nice jobs, nice personalities and takes care of themselves very well (and she said most of them were brown or dark-skinned men who were nice-lookin  ) but she would not want to date them becuz "that's not her type."

Speaking on the brainwash thing I think it effected me when I was little... My mom used to ALWAYS say "you probably going to date a man like your daddy: light-skinned, tall, with fine curly hair". When I was younger I use to only like light-skinned boys who were tall now Im older maturer and my only preferences are:  God-fearing man  great personality  opnionated (lord knows I am  ) FUNNY (laughter is the way to my heart) ***TALL! (im sorry thats one thing Ill agree with my mom)

women are beautiful in general... but i do think that we are all guilty of having certain preferences... i dont discriminate but... 1. i love tall women (5'8 thru like 6'0).... prolly cuz i am 6'4 2. i love brown/dark skin women...the blacker the berry i tell ya...prolly cuz i am dark 3. long hair is a good thing... long that is really hers 4. a braniac... i need a women that knows just as much useless information about life such as I do... for example: no word in the english language rhymes with the word "month" 5. atheletic.... this is a must this is my ideal women i guess... a tall, brown BLACK women with long hair... but like i said... i dont discriminate
