Trying to Change them.... Posted on 02-07-2005
In Rod We Trust

Ok I have a question.....it just sorta came to me... Back in highschool it was this boy...who was FINE as all get out. BUT 1. he never kept a fresh hair cut....2. His clothes were.....well shot to hell....3. He never wore any type of colonge.... I always use to make the comment " Give me 200 dollars and I'll have him looking like he's never looked before"... But you know...you could see the cuteness undeneath all of those uhhh material flaws. So I was wondering..Is it wrong to try and change the way someone appears...even if it's for the better?? He had no sense of dressing or nothing like that.... Or...should you leave him/her the way they are...because I mean hey ur suppose to like this person for his/her personality right?? We all seem to think that fashion and all that doesnt play a role in how we pick our mate...but I personally think that only matters if you have no fashion urself.... So is it wrong...to try and..."change" your mate..for the better?

Yes, you can change someone, but they have to want to change. Some people want to change but just need a little guidance. But do it at your own risk, because it's usually more work than it's worth. It's much easier to find someone whose style you can live with. Holla!

Personally, I feel that if the person is willing to change then it shouldn't be a problem, but if they seem to be bothered by being constantly talked to about the way they dress, I think it should be left alone. From experience, I can say that I don't like it when people try to tell me that I need to change the way I dress. I am a conservative dresser, and I am comfortable with it. What people don' t realize is that a person can dress conservatively and still look nice. But.....If the person u like doesn't dress "in style" then that's something that can be brought to their attention, and if they don't like the idea then it should be dropped. If u really like the person for their personality, then that's something that u can learn to deal with, but if u don't really care for the person, then maybe u'd need to juss move on and find someone who can fulfill ya wants and needs, because obviously that's not the person ur looking for.- but then again, that's just my opinion.
