I love both schools and cant decide which one to go to...
what is your oppinion
Hey,
First I would like to say that I am glad that we have this nice rivalry between Hampton and Howard, because these are like the Harvard's and Yale's for blacks. Personally, I choose Hampton becaue it provides the better education with less distractions from the city. I live in Maryland and I didn't want to attend Howard because it is in the middle of the city with more distractions, but if you enjoy the city life Howard is for you. Hampton has a beautiful campus and a great education as well. Like many have said we are rated #2 in Black Enterprise so lets be for real about who is the better school! Holla!
I like how they closed the poll for voting so I couldnt vote for Howard...thats lame.... Anyway Howard all the way because we constantly reinvent ourselves.... 2007 Ivy League Officially by the American Foundation of Higher Learning
I dont like how the Hampton people keep referring back to the Black Enterprise Magazine about their position as #2. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.....Isnt it funny that Hampton is no where to be seen on the USA Today report for best colleges over all, but yet Howard is ranked among schools such as Harvard, Yale, Stanford and Indiana and Hampton is ranked among southern, FAMU, and morris brown... NO WONDER HOWARD IS ALMOST AN IVY LEAGUE INSTITUTION..... GO HOWARD GO!!!!!!
Why are people taking this HU vs HU to the heart???? Hampton was ranked among Southern, FAMU, and Morris Brown because Black Enterprise did a ranking among the HBCUs!! They specifically ranked what they felt were the best schools for African Americans. As for the USA Today report (like I stated in a previous thread) if that is what you go by, then more power to you! I think there are quite a few HBCUs that deserve the recognition that many PWIs receive, but aren't getting them. And if Howard becomes recognized as an Ivy League school on the level that Harvard, Yale, and Stanford are being recognized, then I think that is a step in the right direction for all HBCUs. Hopefully more HBCUs will receive their due recognition.
BTW both HUs (as well as the other HBCUs) are great for promoting higher learning for Blacks.
P.S. Me and my fellow Hamptonians will see yall at the HU vs HU game 8)
