HBCU or Ivy? Posted on 04-06-2005

I know I posted this question in another forum but I want to know what the peeps in here think. OK...I always wanted to go to Howard University but recently I have been accepted to a white prestigious school here in california. My fellow classmates and educators except me to attend this other school all because of it's name. Certain individuals feel that i shouldn't choose an HBCU over an "Ivy" type but I feel that I always have graduate school. So why not be in a better environment for undergrad around what I am familar with. However, I still have that opportunity. So, if you were in my shoes which one would you choose? And please don't say "Follow Your Heart" it's good advice but it doesn't help. So HBCU or IVY? If you're wondering I am talking about Stanford. I know it's not a real Ivy but California peeps tend to think it's the Ivy of the West. Danielle Future c/o '09 Carson, Cali

El Camino? Isn't that like too close to home? Are there any white girls there? And no I'm not white, I'm just from Montana. And what do I need to compensate for? I'm smarter than all you black people (I mean what truly intelligent person goes to a HBCU?)

It's funny that you think you're smart. All i've read from you were ignorant comments and put downs. So, if you're so smart than why not spread your knowledge? What are you doing to help? NOTHING but talking mess!! Not once have you said anything about serving your community and making it a better place to raise children.

Well, I dont really need to be careful since I'm pretty invulnerable to the normal wear and tear of living and far too intelligent to be at risk of insane accidents. Oh, and Yale administered your exams? Pretty impressive. How much did you have to pay them? And these "classes" you take at Yale... everybody can get A's in summer school. And it's okay to admit that you were scared of the challenges associated with a real Ivy League education. And you'll see how inadequately you were prepared when you graduate with that paltry Morehouse degree and have it posted on the wall of your dirtly little office and get no clients. Especially if you go to a Black medical school. Maybe you can redeem yourself if you go to a PWI for med. Oh and you're still in the closet? Well, sorry for putting you out there like that. I thought everybody would have figured it out by now.

Screw him. He's just another one of you ignorant black people who thinks they're doing something at these HBCUs. And my girlfriend is not at at community college. Too many black people. She's at UCLA. "DANIELLE" if that is your real name...

Idiots. I knew how to do that a long time ago. And what's to respect about an HBCU? They are pretty inadequate in terms of everything. And I dont need attention. This was all an experiment to see how deluded you second tier college students were concerning your so-called "education". Or do you people call it edumacation?
