have u noticed how some commercials can b so racist?
ex: the cingular commercial with the black dude playing basketball and he automatically makes the shot blindfolded and not even facing the basket.
WTF? so cuz he black, he got natural basketball talent? y couldnt it be a white dude? maybe im over-reacting, but wat are some other things that strike u as racist?
about McD's most of them are owned by black people so naturally they're going to be aimed to black people. I work there and the owner owns like 10 of them so that's just what i assume. And I was wondering about BK too because we have one right up the street and I be wondering why we're packed all of the time and if they ever are. I love BK though alot better than McDonald's.
I GOT ONE, what about them marajuana commercials there was nothin but black folk. member the one were there were black dudes smokin at that drive through resturant actin a fool and finally one day they hit that little black girl ridin' on her bike? and there's the one were the black dude is lookin at a tree with pictures on the bottom and when you read the word on the screen you find out that the black dude was smoking and hit his brother while drivin' down the street. there's like one or two other ones with black folk also. :x
There is also that direct TV commercial w/ the black people who need direct Tv w/ on demand because there unorganized and always late, so they miss all the movies..... :? wat with that .
I saw some commercial about a house they were selling and the white man had told the black man that somebody had already put down for the house and he told the white woman that and I was think wtf? he was like we can't have people like that in the neighborhood ya know what I'm saying and she was like no, I don't. it was a commercial to fight discrimination.
them Kool-aid commercials NEVER have any white people in them lol..
Its always the typical "black-family reunion" theme.
but i remember when it was hella white kids surfin and skateboardin and ish with the Kool-Aid dude. maybe it's cause i'm black but it don't bother me that black people is always in Kool-aid commercials. just like it don't bother me that aint no black people in Valtrex commercials (that was funny :lol: ). white people is all over TV. i think we deserve a commercial or two.
You know the newest Burger king commercials where the people are @ work and eating burger king? They got about 3 of those commercials with white people in an office, but on the one that they have with blacks & hispanics they work in an auto garage...

Ok about the racist thing.....some of ya'll gettin' a lil outta hand. Like the one about Kool-aid A plot to **** black people?? :roll: Black people drink Kool-Aid cuz its good!! I wish I had some right about now.... And the thing about the basketball player, i wouldn't say it is racist, its just saying that we as black people are really good in basketball. Aren't they just stating the obvious? I mean hey, look at the NBA. Even so, it is a stretch, I mean I don't know many people black or white who could make that shot. I think we as black people should embrace who we are. You know good and well you love kool-aid, why get mad because people like us are in the commercial. I don't know any figures, but I bet the majority of people who drink kool-aid are black. Its like the thing with chicken. Most black people I know love chicken. So what, would you be happier if they showed us driking Crystal Light and eating filet mignon?? Just like they usually have corny white people in those stupid ballpark hotdog commercials. Black folks don't eat hotdogs.......dammit we eat LINKS!! And Thirst i actually think he's funny. "Show 'em my motto!" he is a bootlegg lil' penny but hey, whatever works. All in all, the media does only what we allow them to get away with. Certain commercials do deserve to be looked at skeptically, but i leave my kool-aid and basketball alone!! :evil:

It is called target demographics, all black people think they can a) sing and b) play basketball. The big companies are just playing to your desires.
