Well this was my first semester in college with a car, so I can definately sympathize with the brotha who doesn't have one. Just my opinion, I may not gain any female friends for saying this but, if you feel as if your man MUST have a car in order for you to talk to him, then in my book you are high maintenance, and need to re-evaluate yourself. I also have a problem with females who ride with you and are not willing to give you gas money "just because they are a female". Get the hell outta here with that bull.
BOOOOOOO! You have issues. Anyways, Yea I need for him to have a car, or to be in the process. REALLY IN THE PROCESS.

^^^ Thank you brotha. I look on this site and a LOT of y'all are needy and high maintenance. As I've been told millions of times, having a car is a "priviledge", not a need or a necessity. Same case with having a man with one. Sure, it's a bonus, but it isn't a necessity. And to the young lady who says I have issues, how you figure? If I'm seeing to it that you have a way to get to point A to point B safely, then if I ask you to help me out on gas, it shouldn't be a problem, right?

Speaking as a "high-maintenance" female... I check myself and attitude everyday. The things that i have, i've earned simply by working my behind off. So, yes, i feel that i need someone who is not only on my level as far as maturity goes but financially as well(or close to it). I will never apologize for the standard that i set and unlike others, what i require is not superficial nor unreasonable. Like i said before, i work hard and expect the same from a potential mate. Does he have to have a car?!? No, but i would prefer him to have a source of transportation. However, i do agree with you about going half or giving up some gas money. That's only fair when someone is driving you around. Now, if you expect gas money while on a date... Well, you're just TRIPPIN'.

I mean she should offer, but if she doesnt then you should ask. Chalk it up. Then realize you can't give her rides anymore. No one is needy. We just know what we want. Whats wrong with that. NOTHING.

Imma be real, I prefer the guy I'm talking to, to have a car so we can go out and stuff. Now that doesn't mean I'm gonna turn down a dude just because he doesn't have a car. I've just talked to dudes without cars and I was just sick of him having to use other people's cars or him having someone pick me up. Plus we never went out on a date.

I don't think its too much wrong with a female being high maintainance, if she takes into consideration the life of the person who she's talking with. The reason why every guy doesn't have a car or certain material things is not always because he lazy, or a scrub, it's because he plain and simple don't have the money. (speakin for guys in school) I see people come out of a household where they have parent(s) with good jobs and just don't understand the fact that some people really don't have the money for certain things at certain points in their life. High maintance is not necessarily bad, but when a female turns away a guy just because of material things thats just stuck up and petty.

I guess it depends on the location. If i was still in Cali, it would be a lil different. I have a car back at home, plus, LA is much more stretched out and public transportation is annoying. And even still...as long as the dude gave me gas money, we'd be aight But over here is DC, it isn't that big of a deal. Alot of peeps don't bring their car to HU, so i would totally understand. So i guess that's why a dude with a car is a hot commodity. I really don't care tho. There are wayz to make it work And girl...are u crazy?! MORRIS CHESNUT IS FIONE! Bump a lil chest hair. That's what a grown MAN has. Ain't nothin wrong wit dat
