I think I wanna go natural. But I don't know where to start. Also, i kinda don't wanna give up my perm. I love going to get my hair done and all that other stuff. I've thought about getting braids and just letting my perm grow out. Is that a good start?

Ok this is what I'm thinking about doing...
I want to cut my hair down to my new growth and just wear kinkies and wigs till my hair grows at a good length naturally.
What yall think? Do yall think my hair will fall out or grow like that?
I don't see any reason why you shouldn't especially if your doesn't become damaged very easily from wigs and braids. I guess it's all about maintenence. It's kinda the same process since you'll be actually cutting the perm out.(I guess that's what you're saying) But as long as you maintain your hair by keeping it washed, deep-conditioned, and keep some type of **** in your hair so it won't dry out in between the braids I think it will grow out fine. Also I'm thinking you should also try braid-outs/twist outs in between just to let your hair breathe a little before getting the braids put back in. Just a suggestion

Yep Lady pretty much spit the truth. Just be sure to take care of your hair while going thru the transition. Folks get braids or wear wigs/weaves and think "yes! now i don't have to be bothered with my hair". Nope, still gotta wash it, condition it, and comb it out. Cuz if it get to tangled, that's when the damage comes in. I think you'd look great with natural hair tho
oh ok. Becuz i know a girl at HU who cut all of her permed hair off. She didn't have alot of new growth, but it was enuff to make a cute curly natural, when it was all cut off. She would pull it back with hair bands or scoop on the side with a lil barret, or u could even do that lil look that's popular with conrows on the side and the hair loose and free all over.
I don't think you'll have too many problems wearing braids and wigs. If anything, it'll help your hair grow alot faster by not having to mess with it all the time. I would just suggest that u don't keep the braids in too long (no more than a month & a half) and get it redone when u can. Also, when u wear your wigs, be sure to braid your hair underneath it. It's hard for your hair to breathe when it's confined like that, so it creates alot of moisture and that makes it easy for your hair to dry out or easily tangle. Be sure to keep it conditioned and oiled/moisturized while wearing the wigs.
