Why the hell did this post three times? Well I will make up a third topic since the moderators of this forum are not present to lock it. ................What things would make a person definitely unfit for your organization?

Different chapters have different standards and cultures. Barring a serious criminal background. Some chapters would find you unfit if your parents didn't attend college or if you are on financial aid. While other chapters have paid the membership dues for a finacially challenged candidate or allowed the candidate with a "questionable past" a spot.
Never heard of that...
Me either . . .
I haven't heard of that before either..:???:
Well it does exsist, there are some bougie chapters out there, however I was using that as an extreme example of what could be used to deem a person "unfit".
Where are these bougie chapters? And don't say at "bougie" schools, b/c I know chapters at pretty prestigious institutions, both white ones and black ones, that are made up of sorors from all types of backgrounds. Financial status and what your parents do prolly were factors in choosing someone in the past in certain chapters, but now virtually no chapter practices that and if some still do I would be very surprised.

Wow, y'all are hyped over this. Based on the bolded we don't disagree. Who knows if these are current trends. The point I'm trying to make is that Person A at West Bumblecreek U. would probably have no problem making line, but if you put him/her on a different campus they might never get looked at.

Of course applications don't ask for that but people can find out who has money and who dosn't, but that was not my point. My point is that there are some chapters of various orgs that are ultra exclusive and some are very inclusive. Consequently what makes a person "unfit" in one situation can be totally different in another. I wouldn't put a specific chapter out there like that. I could be a smartass and answer no to the are you greek question, yes I am a lifetime member of a Black Greek Lettered Organization and have been for 11 years and I've seen it all with regards to intake. Just because you've never heard of something happening dosn't mean that it hasn't.
I've only seen that happen on the graduate chapter level. Wherein, some sororities have a "family" chapter. That type of discrimination occured at a few "elite" HBCUs in the past, but ever since our orgs have exploded onto most PWI's, that practice has been virtually eliminated.
