I don't know if this was already discussed but the Million Man March anniversary is coming up this October. Any one going to DC? I will be there for sure.http://www.millionsmoremovement.com/

back to the topic tho...million man march was a waste when it first happened. Aint sh*t changed.
lol...fa real tho. We still got more black men in prison than in college, we still got black men having all these babies they denying and not takin care of. We still got all these black men killin each other off with all this black on black ****. And I of course aint saying this is ALL black men cause I know thats definitely not the case, but I dont see much of a change from now and 10 yrs ago when the March was suppose to be a new day in which we were hopin to see alot more positive changes in our black men and in our communities.
yeah you are right about that
The major issue with the march was that the people who most needed the inspiration didn't attend. I did, and it was a day I'll never forget. It was inspiring to me, and I went back to my community with renewed vigor and consciousness. Of course time causes sentiments to change and people grow and change, it's about time this was revisited.
AND THIS TIME, PERHAPS MORE FATHERS AND MOTHERS WILL CHECK THEIR WAYWARD BOYS OUT OF SCHOOL AND TAKE THEM THERE.

I'm goin...one way or another...i didnt go to the 1st one cuz it was entitled "Million Man..."...and bein a lil girl in the 5th grade (was it '95?)..i didnt think i could...besides, my dad didnt seem interested...Africans, smh...
but now that I go to school in MD, i'll be over in DC..
I'm going to try & see if I can get the other student orgs to pitch in & hopefully take some of our local HS black students too..maybe raise money for a bus (cuz in a place like Princess Anne, these kids NEED some inspiration)..since it's on a Saturday..or simply buses for the college population...hmm
