you know i've never seen a light skinned Black girl with long hair it was always weave akatude is the stereotypical aka only i'm not sure if that's her hair but anyways now anyone who is into reading should read some old book that actually documented aka's and their color struck inutations they WERE actually color struck and if you were not light enough you didn't get in i thought that was interesting because a myth came out to be TRUE of course it's different NOW but to KNOW that your org WAS discriminatory like that has to make u feel bad poor aka's

Looking at all the posts, all I can say is that regardless of the fact if the paper bag test was used or not, ALL organizations have their moments in time that they aren't proud of, but outside of that, it took these instances to better the organization. Alpha Kappa Alpha has been around for 97 years now (correct if wrong) and during that time the organization had to learn from the past in order to make a better future...Just as people do, organizations learn and progress, not repeat and dwell.

Yeah and all the dark skinned negroes used to hate on light skin negroes. Perfectly justified! Bring the brown paper bag test back!

Change, I see no purpose in posting what you have posted. Where ever you retreived this information did not state Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. I'm not sure if you know anything about our founders, but if you look at our Guiding light Ethel, Ethel was brown skinned and Anna Easter Brown was very dark. If that were the case, did you look at the founding members of DST, ZphiB, and SGRho. Apparently not. Whatever happened upmteen years ago, we have no control of that. We can only take care of what is present and the future. FYI-- I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, who happens to be dark skinned, and just simply pretty! When I was chosen to become a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, I was chosen because of my merit not because of my skin color. There was no reason for your post. Your post contradicts you. With all of the SH!T that white people put black people through back in the day, how much you want to bet that you talk to white people. The point is we cant do anything about history but we could preserve the present and future. Next time think before you post. Or if you cant think, read your post over and over and maybe it'll sink in! Peace

That's a student's report. It's not a scholarly source. Please do better. I doubt you can show me a book/interview where it is documented that Alpha Kappa Alpha implemented brown paper bag and hair combing tests. Many of our founders are brown and dark skinned women. When I attend conferences, most sorors are brown and dark skinned, especially the older ones.
Nah, I ain't even gon' waste my time. If you wanna see a scholary source go to their works cited.

Hardly. All you need to do is download a program, forgot where I got mine...but everyone's internet IP (each time you connect it changes), and service IP (the service you are using) are publicly displayed, sort of. But they aren't posting from the same computer. Might as welll be. Change's opinions are trash, and Invincible at first was the spectator, then the wannabe greek, and is now simply Change's ****.
