Do you know anybody that talked all the time about pledging a particular organization, (ie: talked to members, went to workshops, & interest meetings) but then, were NOT accepted.....so they pledged the next best thing?? I know this girl that talked ALL THE TIME about becoming an AKA. she went to ALL the events they put on and went to 2 interest meetings. By the time she was ready to pledge the chapter had already put 2gether an underground line, and they were due to probate shortly. She knew they only had lines once every 1 or 2 years, so she started looking for other options. To make a long story short, she went to whoever was likely to put her on. she found the Zetas. now she represents Zeta like nobodys business!! party hops, nalia, etc!! Do yawl know anybody like that, and if so, how are they perceived by the people that KNOW tha real deal??

YES!!! I know people like that. The AKAs on my yard justcrossed 58 girls. These girls had no interview, nor did they have to have community service. Everybody with a complete application packet was accepted, because the grad chapter brought them in. Anyway, close to 20 of those new girls had APPLIED to Delta and got REJECTED. It was so funny, because I recognized two girls who had been in my group at the Delta Rush, and I remember how amped they were about the possibility of being a Delta. My sorors and I went to their probate, and my prophytes were like Whoa! It was like a mini Delta Rush 2004 on their line. I felt sorry for them in a way. I am so glad that when I called Delta she answered. I really feel sorry for people who have to 'settle' for plan B.
An AKA friend of mine told me they dont do interviews either. Also heard that they have seperate legacy packets that dont ask as many ?'s as the regular packets and they are automatically accepted. Pledging is not a privelege anymore, anybody can just get in now and nationals doesnt care about anything but the money. I refuse to have a line over 20 girls and i refuse to have no interview either, what kinda mess is that
Please use discretion when refering to an org other than your own. Neither of you know what you're talking about and you're both spewing hear-say. Again, you don't know what you're talking about, I don't care what you claim you "heard". Discretion is key
Actually, I do know. Two of the females that just crossed (if that's what you call it  ) AKA PAID me to type their applications. One is like family, and she was elated that they didn't get interviewed, because she's shy and felt she would have blown her chances. It may be "hear-say" as you put it, but I do take it as being as close to gospel as a human can get. Two of AKA's recent initiates were the ones who told me. And they said it proudly. They are proud to have skated in. They find no shame in it. So why should you? Funny that you didn't ask anyone else to use discretion. The two sisters of the dove weren't offended whn someone mentioned people "settling for Zeta." So why are you so offended? I guess a hit frog will holla. Singing to no one in particular  : "You cannot slide, slide in my sorority....You have to work and pray and have a GPA..."
LOL! See unlike SOME of you, I don't spend my life worrying about what other orgs do  I worry about my own because there is no other org worthy of my time *pun intended*. But please carry on, I am actually getting a good laugh outta all this!      Member of ABC: "Gurrrl you know the AKAs don't do (enter your rumor here) right???" Member of XYZ: "Guuuuuurl how you know?!" Member of ABC: "Well "so and so" told me that the AKAs (enter your rumor here) so it HAS to be true!" Member of XYZ: "Dang, well then if "blah blah blah" said it then it MUST BE TRUE! Ooohweee!" Member of ABC: "Um hum gurrrrrl that's what I heard and I KNOW it's true!" Member of XYZ: "Well guuuurl I'm glad my org doesn't do (enter rumor here)!!!" Member of ABC: "Me too gurrrl me too! I just loooove talking bout them AKAs; they stay on my mind ALL THE TIME I can't ever think of nothing else."

couldnt have said better. Of course i cannot be angry, hey, maybe thats how that chapter of Zeta rolls but not my chapter. There are always going to be some chapter of orgs that do things like that but u cant get offended by it. u can only worry about your chapter and your chapter sorors b/c u cannot look out for all chapters. But i will say this, u sure aint skatin up n mine and we sure arent takin any rejects. I'll say it agan, ill cross one female, numbers mean nothin to me. Just give me some god hardworkers who love Zeta and will answer to her call
See I was waiting for ONE of yall to say it. Instead it's been "I heard the AKAs do this" and cosigning "ooh girl yeah I heard they (enter your rumor here) Petty, childish, and generalized like a ****. So had I said "Yeah all the Zetas don't do this and yeah girl I HEARD they don't do that oooweee" you wouldn't have cared? Riiiiiiight. In short, yall said THE AKAs--- not any particular chapter. I would've have easily over-looked you all's comments because I know for a fact ((BECAUSE I AM ONE  )) that many chapters of AKA do not get down like yall are trying to have folks believe. Once again, discretion is key when refering to an org other than your own AS A WHOLE. Yall be ready to wild out if someone said something about yours so please believe when mine is mentioned (in vain), I'll be ready too

Trust that if I wanted to be a part of you organization, I could have. It ain't hard. It's nothing to "sacrifice" a weekend to grab some quick letters. If I wanted my letters Jiffy Pop style, I would have skated down AKA lane. I chose to work. I chose to prove myself worthy of wearing Delta Sigma Theta in my heart. I am a woman of substance, and I align myself with other women of substance. So rest assured that AKA is not, and has never been, of interest to me.

^^LOL! You on a roll girl! And tell us what you get out of your 21 days besides learning how to be anti-AKA and bark like an Omega? Did I just say that? Okay let me retract that. I have lots of love for the real women of DST. But it's obvious that you have been well-trained by girls to do what some of yall do best- have this envious attitude towards those of us with class and dignity. No, you're right; there's no way you could've ever been one of us because no one can train you to be a woman<---and obviously your prophytes failed you in that area. But hey, look at it on the bright side: at least you got you some letters! I'm done with you and this topic. Have a nice day

21 days? Is that how long it was? ok. However long it took to EARN my letters, please know that the time wasn't spent barking or being anti-AKA. Some of my closest friends are AKAs, and I love them dearly. What's truly obvious is that your letters came gift-wrapped in the thinnest PAPER available. The slightest mention of the "process" that some, not all, AKAs go through and you get your **** in a bunch. Nobody said that you got yours on a weekend pass, but it's painfully obvious that we have hit a nerve with the mere mention of it. Everybody knows about the weekend trip to become a member of Jiffy Kappa Pop. It's no longer a secret. If it offends you so much, why don't you become a delegate for your org. and try to have it changed at the next convention? Don't shoot down the messengers. And my prophytes are some of the crunkest, knowledgeable, capable, and compassionate Deltas you'll ever come across. They performed a highly commendable job of guiding my linesisters and me to Delta Land. In case you missed it the first time, your org. is of no interest to me. If it was all that, there would be no Delta Sigma Theta. Why don't you ask your prophytes, Basilus, or some other AKA who might know exactly what did your org do before 1913. Was it anything of substance? No. Exactly why is your incorporation date in 1913, if you'd been around 5 years before? What was the rush then? What made you all decide that community service should be a component of your sorority? Hmmmm.......? You should thank your lucky stars and Nellie Quander that you even have an organization.
