Peep game, I was listening to the radio while I was gettin ready for work this mornin an the Topic of the day was "Light SKin vs. DarkSkin Black People...is the rumors true about Light SKin having an advantage over more darker tones or is it a myth?"...what chall think about this...an have you experienced anything dealing with the tone of your skin?....DO TELL!!!
she went too far with the only wanting to marry a Nigerian spouse!!! there is nothing wrong with african american blood or vice versa. well I dont know what she means about the European features...was she talking about the big ol' hawk nose or the Casper the friendly ghost skin color or the lack of having lips or having 2 backs with the Dell laptop computer as their ****? :lol:

I didnt know what she was talkin about b/c I have very full lips... Ma nose is a mixture of round and pointy, and yea I may be light, but I am not casper white! lol But I guess she didnt consider me black enough!!!!
I truly believe that as a race, we do seem to undermine each other. Let me ask you a question....when was the last time anyone ever heard this phrase.."you're cute for a light girl?" or when was the last time you've heard "light is beautiful?" Instead we hear.."you're cute for a dark girl' and " the blacker the berry the sweeter the juice." Such phrases are neither compliments nor insults. We only do what we are taught, so let's educate one another, please. Condoning such things leads to their continuance.
now i am a light skinned african american woman.. i have gotten into plenty of fights. discussions n confrentations because of my skin color so im glad dat some one has mentioned this in da forums...
(i have a lot of dark skinned female friends.) i think that dere is no reason y . dark skinned vs light skiined woman should even be an issue, but sadly it is...y r we hating on each other mind u of da same race..
like n those videos, more light skinned den dark.. i find every blk woman to be beautiful..no matter what skin tone she is... i am glad now dat more so ever they r showing all types of skins colors n videos.. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :lol: :idea:

well i was just poking fun at white people.... but the division started because of white people in the slavery days. They planted the seeds of division here in America and also in South Africa and well as India. Since we are in the present its time to unite and excel as :arrow: AFRICAN AMERICANS ARE DESTINED TO DO :idea:
I GUESS I CAN RESPOND TO MY OWN THREAD...IVE ACTUALLY WITNESSED A FEW SCENARIOS PERTAINING TO SKIN TONES....AND ITS SAD BUT TRUE THAT GUYS ARE MORE LIKELY TO HOLLA @ A LIGHTSKIN CHICK WITH LONG HAIR....IT WAS WORSE BACK IN THE DAY BUT NOW IT SEEMS LIKE ALL MOST GUYS SEEM TO BE WORRIN ABOUT IS IF SHE HAS T & A, FEEL ME?? Unfortunately , african amercians fall into another seed of division when it comes to light vs. dark. :cry: :roll: as for myself if your pretty , your pretty . despite skin tone.
Ive never cared much for conversations of skin because I really dont ever make it a factor in my life. Probably because I dont date exclusive to any race - I date exclusive to personality types. Could yall imagine talkin to me during the time when I had my Russian American girlfriend? I wouldve got hated on so many times, girls wouldve even have been like "Id talk to Tres but he likes White girls and *the face*"
And you know what, thats cool.
Cuz my attitude is so laidback that i dont have to ask for anyones permission to do sh*t. Thats one of the great things about being me - I **** you off but it really doesnt matter to me because at the end of the day Im happy. The day I suck my own d*ck just to please you will be the day I stick a **** through my eye till it tickles the front of my brain.
If I had to comment though Id say that its been in my experience that most of the darker skinned women Ive talked to have been really down to earth with me and Ive enjoyed my experiences with them. All the lightskinned girls that I talked to in HS ended up being very stuck up, superficial and Popularity Mongers that wouldnt talk to you if it made them look bad.
There are exceptions to every rule, but its held true for me for alot of my life. But like I said before,
My preference is a WOMAN (a good one).
Now some of yall as bad as tha people who say, "I need a light bright man/woman wit good hair so ma baby's will be pretty..." It's all shallow...
I had a roommate at the Univ. of Michigan who was Nigerian. For four weeks, I had to hear this broad complain about how she only wanted to marry another Nigerian b/c she didnt want her child to be polluted by African-american blood... She told me I had too many European features, and that I was closer to white than black... She said ma blood was polluted with that of the white man's and that pretty soon there will be no more "true" black people, b/c of people like my grandparents...
Now I tried ma best not to snap on this girl... I didnt tell her exactly how I felt about her, b/c I realized she was insecure and nothing I could have said to her would get through her thick skull...
hold up i am nigerian but with your roommate wanting another nigerian is normal but what she said was stupid :roll: be because there are so many lightskinned nigerian hell african and most of them are mixed with european blood. even though they make it seem like that african are very dark people that a lie bcuz i am brownskin more half than my family is lightskinned there r some people in my family that r lightly than yellow u would think they r white, ur roommate was ignorant u should have said something to her about her ignorance
