Whatever happened to trying again? Posted on 07-12-2004

I saw this quote in the other thread and I feel that. . .

exaclty. All dumb stereotypes. Mostly spread by GDI's tryna start some mess. The same thing happened with the K's on my yard. they didnt even want a 85 girl line, they only wanted 30 and the thirty that they chose i heard were on point and smart too. But grad chapter stepped in and made them accept more females b/c dumb broads wanna call nationals. if they dont want u, try again, if u get rejected twice, they probably dont want u
I HATE seeing graduate chapters do that to undergraduate chapters. I'm in a grad chapter now, but we seldom interfere with the undergrads and their process, unless they've been hazing. I have seen sororities add thirty and forty women to lines. And it ALWAYS causes problems. This past year, the alumni chapter of a sorority added about 11 or 12 new girls at the last minute (a few days before the coming out show) and these girls did not step in the probate and were publicly disrespected during the probate. What do you all think about this?

Well we dont have any AKAs on our yard as of right now .. We dont even have a grad chapter here .. They all (Under&Grad) graduated in 2003 but we do have active members who work at our school. I think they are going to put together a line but I kind of feel bad for the AKAs who will pledge under them because Im sure they wont haze .. Especially since one of them is over the NPHC at our school. Im not trying to make hazing sound like its a wonderful thing but sometimes when u have to sacrifice I think it makes u appreciate it more.
Yes indeed...Its a big difference between hazing and pledging. Pledging should be a challenging way to learn about the organization and prove you have what it takes. Hazing is ****, its inconducive to sincere brotherhood/sisterhood and can endanger the status of the members and the organization at that campus. I think that those who participate in hazing should be looked upon with the same contempt as those who dont even go through a process at all. and how can all the members of a GRAD chapter graduate off a campus. I thought u can have members in graduate school on a campus but that members of a grad chapter were grown women who represented the body of people in the organization in that city.
u r right. A grad chapter is a group of males or females who have a bachelors degree and above and have graduated from college. Not all people go on to join a grad chapter.

then there cant be a undergrad chapter. usually in cities, they have a few around. But a grad chapter is also there to oversee the undergrad chapter

**** Nah I really WASNT gettin an attitude this time .. But I can if u want me too :? .. But anyway some active members that work at my school are gonna try to bring some new ones in I THINK but I dont know how they would go about doin that .. They should have made the undergrads who just graduated bring some new ones in but honestly I dont think anyone was interested .. So I guess we wont have any until an interested female raises the issue I know my roommate would like to do it but I am unsure about anyone else and one of my mentors said she couldnt go to another chapter because we have a chapter here on campus so hell I dont know ..

What, no one interested, thats odd. But the old heads should just go ahead and form a grad chapter or join the city one and recruit some females. But usually, when a grad chapter brings in females, its nuffin but mess
