Me and Jeremy somehow got into a discussion of driving and getting a license. Somewhere in the conversation we discuss what it took for us t get a license. Then he says in Illinois it is mandatory that all h.s. students take drivers ed in their school cause its a graduation requirement, and they have to have a yellow card, then a permit, then they can get a license...I never heard of a yellow card cause we dont do those here in Connecticut. Anyhow, I didnt realize how DIFFERENT it was in all state's it is to go about learning how to drive and get a license...This is how it works here in my home state...
 Driver's Ed ( OPTIONAL ) I went tho, and it cost $400. We dont have drivers ed in all high schools in Connecticut, and my high school happened to be a school that didnt have drivers ed...so I went to Sears. Plus that stupid Sears driving book cost $25.
 Permit testing..It cost $10
 When you are under 18 and have had your permit for so many months, then you can make an appointment to take ur drivers test.
 Making an appointment cost ANOTHER $40...and then when you go to make an appointment..it aint like u can take it nexrt week or sumthin...You have to wait months in advance...Like I made my appointment in a May and couldnt take the test until that following July...I guess cause there are so many people tryin to get licenses their appointments book months ahead.
 The actual day of the drivers test arrives. If you successfully complete your exam is cost $77 for the license...They claim its this much cause it doesnt expire for 7 years, unlike older license that use to expire in 4 years...
So after its all said and done I spent a total of $552 just to eventually get a license. I really coulda did without the drivers ed...Cause not only was that sh*t boring as hell...but my daddy taught me how to drive honestly...Those few lessons I had from the Sears instructors didnt do much. But that is ridiculous after you calculate all the costs...But Im just wondering..how does it work in every state?
My road test consited of me driving to the end of the street, doing a 3 point turn, putting the car in reverse, and pulling back in the DMV..toold about .....5 mintues.
I don't remember...all I know in MD its called the Rookie Driver Program.
You have to go to driving school...I know high schools in my county didn't have driver's ed...not sure about other counties...I think it was between $120 or $220 to go. I remember there being some grown **** women in that class. And a cutie that sat behind me 8)
I had to keep a learner's permit with no moving violations...then when ur 16 and 1 month you can go get ur drivers license.
Insurance is cheaper when you go to driving school.
Driving in general is expensive.
yea that's bout right even tho i got mine in the baltimore city, md.
let's see:
at 15 and 9 months you can take the permit test (written test). pass that then pay $45 to get your permit plus that big ol' yellow ROOKIE DRIVER bumper sticker
then go to driving school which ran me about $280. do 30 in class hours then 6 on the road hours
16 and 1 months you can to and take your license test. pass that get and you get your license with time restrictions and whatnot. but after 18 none of that matters so...
THEN after 18 months without a moving violation you can get your full license but of course you'll still but facing the left because your under 21
I got mine in Bmore too but now on the new licenses you face the front or at least thats how my provisional(the one with the time restrictions) is. I don't get my full license till march
 The test for your license is way easy. Its all inside a course they set up in the parking lot and you just have to parallel park, do a turnabout, and don't go through any stop signs(its like 2) and your all done.
:!: My instructor was mean though. He almost made me cry even though he passed me
I dont remember how much it cost all together. Not much Ion think, but insurance...thas another thing....
I just remember I was sposed to finish 25 hours of driving before I could get my license. I just used three different colored pens and filled out the paper. I turned it in the next day....
The hell it took yall so much to get ya damn license??
I paid 25 dollars for the class...I ended up taking it in the spring time of my soph. yr. in highschool. So I had my permit 3 months..the day I turned 16 is the day i got my license..
I was excited...so **** me.
And I didnt have to take the driving test. My teacher at school gave me a waiver. So when i went to get my license i jus showed them the waiver..and took my picture and BOUNCED...Oh then i headed over to the car lot and got a car that same day...
*sighs* to be 16 again....
in florida you take driver's ed in school (if you want), take the written test and the driving test! you get one chance to take the test, after that you pay $5 to take it up to 20 times. Once you get your permit, you go back to the driver's ed teacher, get those other 2 papers, wait a year and get your license(if youre under 18)...you dont have to take the driving test again..
The license is like $20 and the wait is probably 5 minutes..

I did the same thing, they don't be checkin that stuff. Thats why its so many bad drivers now. They just give anybody a license here in Chicago...
