I think the greeks on this board are acting so irrational. If you guys don't remember, these are high school students. Unless they have older siblings or cousins who have attended college, they have no idea what college life is about. If they can't ask sensible questions to current students, who are they suppose to talk to. People always say don't tell people what you want to pledge. I think this can be misleading also. No, you shouldn't go around talking about what you are going to pledge; however, I see nothing wrong with asking people in the greek world about it. For Miss_Choklit to be representing any pan-hel organization, I would think you of all people would have the decency to be kind to this young lady and educate her on the process and the benefits of joining any organization. Instead, you chew her out about a question that she has every right to ask. Revealing what one wants to pledge over a message board is really not a big deal. Even if this young lady went to your school Miss_Choklit, you would have no idea who she was. I think you totally overreacted.
P.S. I would say that the AKAs hold it down at Tuskegee. As a chapter, they have been recognized by on regional and national levels and also had the highest GPA in the southeast region. They are also very active on campus and in the surrounding community.
Finally someone understands me. I am a first generation college student so I don't know much about sororities. I have researched them, but that tells me nothing about the real questions that I want answered. I just glad that someone is sensible and took the time out to think that maybe I had no idea about the secrecy of sororities. I want to thank you for your respectful response to my question. I happy to see that there is some sensible students on this site.

- All I was trying say was,why ask people on the internet? Anyone (on the internet) could tell you that they belong to XYZ sorority. If you are so interested in joining a sorority, you will do your own RESEARCH and ask them personally. From this, you will be hearing it "straight from the horses mouth."Most people in sororities are more than happy to answer your questions. If any thing, they would be flattered by your interest 8)

True. But that doesn't mean that I will believe whatever people tell me. I did do research and I actually got some positive feedback, but what HBCU is in Wisconsin....none. Everyone has a different perspective and Ijust wanted to hear some of them.
I would like to say as a female from WI, also interested in the potential Greek life at an HBCU, I understand your frustrations of getting to know how they work, what to know and how to become apart of their sister hood. Observation is the best key; if you truely know the history and have conducted research, you will know which organization you would like to participate with. Patience is virtue, if it is meant be it will happen. Remember, if you pray don't worry; if you worry don't pray.
Do your research? I attend Tuskegee and I am greek. And I would say pick what is right for you because it is not about who rep the yard...I is about what they do nationally. Because, once you graduate you are still a member and might want to remain active. You can have sucky members there, but if it is in your heart then you will know what to do. I knew what you mean and I will not pass judgement on how you word your question.
