How do you feel about junior greeks and what are the ones you know or were a part of? Do they give you any credibility when you pledge in college?

My opinion still wouldn't change. Back home we did community service through the Key Club, Junior Achievement, FBLA, even Mu Alpha Theta Honorary Math Society. The 4-H club was off the hook and boy let's not even talk about my church's youth club and youth choir. Heck, even the Boy and Girl Scouts were out helping the old people at the homes. There are PLENTY of ways to do community service. Greek life should be left to COLLEGE STUDENTS. For you to claim that your Kappa League does more for the community that the Alumni chapters is HIGHLY offensive. But that is the type of arrogance that is cultivated in 15 - 17 year olds through some of these clubs. I don't know what's going on around the nation, but I am glad that Alpha Phi Alpha does NOT endorse a junior club, as an organization. Join the chess club, play a sport, take a debutante to her Cotillion, Jabberwock or Fashionetta. That's what high school should be all about.

and we do party trains
And when did Kappas start doing party "trains"?
Actually, that is an ignorant statement for you to make simply because I doubt you really know what the alumni chapters down here are doing? Which is nothing forreal. I mean Kappa Alpha Psi does have us beat and I will give them all the credit in the world because they are the most active down here, But as far as our Alpha Phi Alpha, Phi Beta Sigma, Omega Psi Phi ALUMNI chapters, they are almost nonexistent in the community, and trust me, I would know better than you since I"m very much in time with what Greeks(juniors, college and almuni) down in the Mobile area our all about. I also think that maybe you shouldn't judge what high school should be all about because just because that may have been what it's all about for you doesn't mean that it has to be like that for everybody. The High School junior greeks down here do an amazing job not only with stepping, but with community service and I'm the one who's offended that you have the nerve to call me arrogant just because not all the Alumni Chapters down here our doing our job. That's not my fault, nor my problem, but then again if you would actually research the Alumni Chapters down here instead of making your own assumptions and talking ignorant you would know that. Trust me, me saying that the High School Greeks do a better job than the Alumni Chapters are very much warranted. All I'm saying is don't think that just cuz ur an Alpha that all the other chapters, alumni chapters, etc do their job because they don't(especially down here). Bottom line is, in Mobile AL, High School Greeks are better, don't believe me, come experience it for yourself but until you do, please refrain from making ignorant comments unless you are sure you know what your talking about. And as far as the situation on "trains", that's simply what we High School Greeks call our equivalent of a "Party hop."

Since you have noticed the men of Kappa Alpha Psi slacking in some areas, KrownPrince, why don't you demand a meeting with them and give suggestions on how they can improve themselves.

Greek History: Party train has traditionally been attributed to Alpha Phi Alpha coinciding with our signature step, "The Train". Now that that's out of the way. .have you ever considered that your average high school and college student have a hell of lot more free time than your average alumni chapter member? Alumni chapters spend money and set policies; and make it possible for arrogant little kids like you to join clubs where you think you're better than other greeks or everyone else. I don't know much about Mobile, I'll admit, but believe me, comparing an organization for high school kids to the real greek organizations and chapters shows a level of arrogance I pray that you don't take over to college with you. It's been shown in this thread and in the other thread that you have some growing to do. In greek life young man, There is no to "Get respect, you must give respect." You respect those who KNOW MORE THAN YOU about greek life; especially to those who are older than you regardless of organization.

You are constantly calling me arrogant, but I don't see it that way. The junior greeks down here take about as much pride in being in their organization as you do in being in Alpha Phi Alpha, maybe even more. Maybe you wouldn't understand because you don't understand where we are coming from; we take our greek life very seriously and we've learned to take pride in our various organizations while at the same respecting the other ones. A lot of people came into this thread dissing junior Greeks, and seeing that I'm a member of an organization who is constantly working their butts off to constantly remain the #1 Kappa League in the nation, I take HIGH OFFENSE to it, so of course I come in here defending it, not only because of my organization, but because of I know of all the hard work that the teens and advisors put into making this High School Greek System stand out as a whole. You can't tell me that if someone came into a thread and were dissing the Alpha's like it was no tommorow you wouldn't properly put them in their place, or at least attempt to. That is exactly what I'm doing, and if it comes off as arrogance or even if it actually is arrogance(which I don't think it is) then fine, I'll own up to it, but I'm going to stand up for my organization regardless because it's that serious down here. Regardless of everybody's various opinion on whether we should go through a pledging/induction process, the fact of the matter is that we do, and it has instilled a sense of pride in all of us for our respective organizations. While I admit that our pledging/induction process and even our greek system our probably nowhere near what it's going to be like in college, it's all that we have and we all work hard to make it work, and because of it, we have the #1 High School Greek System in the entire nation, with several if not all of them winning awards. You have no idea where we are coming from because you think we are a bunch of kids who are perverting Greek life just to try to be cool(or at least that's what I took from what you and others were saying), but it's nothing like that. If you came down here talking like that about Kappa League, Sigma Phi Nu, Iota Kappa Psi, you would be in serious physical danger just like I would be if I came to your college and starting talking noise about Alpha Phi Alpha, or anybody for that matter. As I said earlier, don't speak on things you do not know about, you yourself said you know nothing about Mobile so you really can't speak on us or our Greek life or even me until you came down here and experienced it for yourself; because if you did, you would be quite impressed, regardless of whether u thought Greek Life should be saved for college or not. That's the honest 2 God Truth. So like I said, you are mistaking arrogance for the same sort of pride that you College Greeks take in your organizations. You seem to think that because the Alumni Chapters are older than us or whatever that they automatically are better than us just for that simple reason; I do not agree. While I sincerely take my hat off to anybody who crossed anything because while I do not know the specifics; I know that they go through hell and spend a lot of money to do so as well. But I mean, of course they have jobs, 90% of the Greeks down here do to, but we still find a way to pull it off. But I do realize that the jobs they hold probably demand a lot more time than ours do. But there is a difference between them not doing as much because of us having more times on our hand(even though I doubt that is true) and not doing anything; whether yo think so or not; I took all that into consideration when I made my statement. I still feel that we are more involved in the community, and until you can show me where I'm wrong then you really have no arguing point against me; because that's all I've been saying for the longest. Yes I do respect you because you are older and are an Alpha, do not think that I don't, but that doesn't mean that I'm not gonna argue my point until I can be proven wrong. I just can't see how you can argue this point with me when you admitted yourself you know nothing about Mobile.

There is no NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL GREEK SYSTEM. Yeah, you're right, no need wasting further space on this issue. I'll sit back and defer to men who are members of Kappa Alpha Psi on this issue.

When did u see me say NATIONAL? I said High School Greek System because that's what we like to call it because we all operate in close connection with each other with a healthy rivalry, etc, but not once did I say National, do not put words in my mouth. Oh well, hope your "deferring" helps put your mind at ease. Anyways, yeah, **** issue, not gonna change your mind, you're not gonna change mine.

I'm going to just tip toe in and drop my ... well I only have a bout 37 cents... so I'mma drop that. This is my feeling on Junior Greeks. 1. There should be a level of respect AUTOMATICALLY given to any person in a college, particularly people in BGLOs -- simply on the fact that they are greek. Especially if your junior org was founded on their principles. It's disrespectful to assume anything about them or their purposefulness in the community if you do not attend their chapter meetings or are a member. Honestly I was kind of thrown by your umm.. utter lack (or not apparent level) of respect for the Alumnae Chapter in your area.. now.. I know some people from Mobile who have a completely different view on greek life down there..... 2. There is a reason why you CALL yourselves JUNIOR greeks. Why? Becasue you are not the real thing. You were designed so that young people would have an outlet to encounter professionals and succesful black individuals. A mentor type thing.. You are only getting a small taste of greek life in a college and post-grad setting. You were chosen to lead your generation as confident and competent men and women that were driven and ambitious.... 3. I know MANY KLeaguers who were integral parts of their community also... I'm proud that you were a part of helping the Mobile community. HOWEVER.. and this is a STRONG however..... Being in Kappa League should've forced you to have a LITTLE bit more respect for BGLOs in general. I could've sworn that there was a HUMBLING process during your tenure in this group. In the random **** convos I've had w/ Bigd1611 I can tell that he is a humble kid (not to gas his head up) but it also seems that he has a full grasp on the benefits, problems and responsibilties that you as Kappa Leaguers must face.. all the time.. you might want to holler at your fellow Leaguer b4 you come out with that kind of disrespectful stuff.... I'mma need you to graduate from High School.. shyt.. take an SAT.. fill out a college application b4 you start immerging your life in it.. Its a big world out there... Greek Life is a very good and important thing, but if you can't maintain what you need to (respect..info..drive..grades) in order to get ACCEPTED into an org, then purhaps you should not inquire right now. However, I have faith that you are more than just an overly confident young man, and that you are truly genuine about what your org does.. just don't overstep your boundaries... oh.. and for the record, my vote in this arguement goes to WileyCoyote

That's fine, and don't worry, with a 32 on my ACT, I WILL NOT have any problem getting into a college, so that's already taken care of. But I have a question for you...both you and WileyCoyote have stated that I should automatically have respect for the real Greeks, but if you had read my earlier post then you would have seen that I had already acknowledged my respect for anybody in the Greek community who went through the college pledging process because while not knowing the specifics I know that you have to go through hell to cross anything. But, I don't think that necessarily means if organizations around here(notice I didn't say all, in fact it's just 1 or 2), that I should pretend like they do anyway. I respect the individual people who crossed anything and I even respect the organizations as a whole, but as you or anybody who knows anything about Greek life should know that each organization has chapters that aren't up to par. That is my opinion on 1-2 frats, sorors down here, and I have the right to my opinion. I was not trying to say that the Mobile Kappa League is better than every single alumni chapter or is much more active than any organization on the earth as y'all are trying to make it seem, I simply said that they are in comparison to 1 or 2 orgs down here, which is a fact. I came into this post to voice my opinion on Junior Greeks just like you all have voiced yours. In doing so, I simply stated how heavy the high school Greek org is down here and involved it is, and yes that included me saying that SOME(1-2) FRATS and/or SORORS down this way aren't as involved in the community as we are, which is a fact. I'm sorry if that was taken as disrespect or if I hurt some of your feelings, but I simply was telling things from my point of view, and I don't like how you are trying to twist things into me being arrogant or me being disrespectul. All I was doing was being confident in my organization and stating that I think that the high school junior greeks down here are d*mn impressive to just be high school. I really don't see the big deal of me saying that or any of the other opinions I've voiced in this thread.

First off, congrats on your 32.. I got that also.. it proves to me that you are truly a smart young man..... Secondly, thank you for emphasizing the fact that you were only referring to a specific one or two orgs in your area. Althouhg I gathered that, it did sound at times that you were stating a generaliztion.... Thank God that was not true... Thirdly, I am proud to be proven wrong. You have taken a lot of great things from KL, and I know that you will probably make a good fraternity brother to whatever you decide, but baby, make sure its in your heart.. I know people who pledged one thing or the other on the strength that the people were on campus. You are not going to get a lot of the answers that you seek, so I suggest looking at various avenues of information, but just remember to be respectful when inquiring... You catch more flies with honey...... Oh.. and you definitely did not hurt my feelings...
