It really reinforces bad black stereotypes.
*Leading females are ALL Light-skindedededed
*The Darkskin female is seen as loud and ghetto with no sense of self-worth because she keeps chasing after the same boy who DOESN'T want her.
*Oscar Proud is the dominant Black Male figure in the house/show, yet he is seen as the Baffoon of the family. His company procduces a product that nobody likes and the women of the family contiue to riducle him. He as a Black Man is not given any respect and he's designed to simply be comic relief (Like all black men on television.)
Seriously, its not that great, I feel insulted when I do watch it. Altho I do chucke when I see the ashy sisters.

I agree with the creator of this thread. I was watching one time and Penny was babysitting her cousins and they all had names of spices they were Cinnamon Paprika etc. and Im like :???: Why can't they have regular names like Penny?? Not to mention their lil Latina friend Lacinika Im like... okay. I don't know its just the persona of those characters have always turned me off.
hmm, if u get mad at the Proud Family..u might as well get mad at almost every other show for using some form of stereotypes...
people usually only get mad at stereotypes when it pertains 2 them tho...which is sorta wrong...cuz dats a double standard...for example, if a show was crackin on white people...a hell of a lot of black people would laugh their **** off and then juss say (prolly in unison) "haha, white people..."
but i cant lie..i've been mad at cartoons too 4 misportrayin black people...for instance, one time on the Fairly Odd Parents...that lil white boy...Jimmy, i think his name is (i dont watch nicktoons 2 much nemore, they aint made like they used 2 be)..he traveled all over the world...but when he got to Africa..why was it juss jungle and monkeys??..there were people EVERYWHERE else...but in Africa..all they had was monkeys...are u serious? :x ...& bein of African descent..that irked me...smh..
