HBCU's going broke and disappearing Posted on 03-16-2005

There are alot of HBCU's that are disappearing and cutting programs because lack of funds. There having to join with other schools and crazy stuff like that just to keep going. Morris Brown VUU just to name some. Yall what is going to happen if HBCU's just keep disappearing and we as a race just keep losing what we worked so hard to achieve?? Would you ever consider going to a white school if your school disappeared or would go to another HBCU.

I mean, I understand that HBCu's are smaller than most PWI's, so there aren't going to be as many alumni that can contribute back. It's just sad though. If I become successful, I'd like to think that giving back to the institution which helped me achieve my dream is the least I can do.
I completely agree, I think the problem though is the method of fund raising and the money handling. We have got to have some issues in these areas and until they are resolved we will continue to have problems staying alive...
