I wanna go Au Natural Posted on 05-31-2005
1st Born Second

I think I wanna go natural. But I don't know where to start. Also, i kinda don't wanna give up my perm. I love going to get my hair done and all that other stuff. I've thought about getting braids and just letting my perm grow out. Is that a good start? Somebody help a Sistah out!

ooooh we got a club. we the ummm....**** headed....no wait.....we the natural girls. WE KEEPS IT REAL *holds up fist*
betta belive it *holds up fist* oh, and i loved Vivian Greene's hair when she first came out. I think that look would be hot on u Megan. Yep, just wet it a bit, maybe put a lil gel/curl activator in it. I use "twist & lock gel" by Organic Root Stimulator. They have excellent products for natural hair.

I applaud you Megan for making the BIG CHOP! I haven't gotten the confidence that I want yet to do the same. It's just a matter of me stop being a baby and just doing it. I've gone to nappturality.com, I like what I saw and I took in the tips that it gave. I still want to talk to some people who've gone natural, you know the transition and what not. I really want to make sure that this is something that I want to do, and it's just not a phase. If you can tell about these thing my AIM Screename is:HurdleQueen8705. Congratulations again Megan. I'll be doing the same soon.... :-)

Nappturality got me to do it. It was nice seeing other sistas in my position and they gave me the strength and willingness to do it.

i cut my hair about 6 months ago and it was about the same length as yours, megan. it grows FAST. i cut mine as a way to get closer to my heritage. i am african-american and i felt like i wanted to actually acknowledge the african part of that hyphen and for me that meant i couldn't continue to think that straight hair was the only way to be beautiful. (that's not all i did and am doing but it's off topic). anyway, for most, that's not the deal. i say whatever you do, make sure it's you.
