Article I: I am an American, fighting in the armed forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense. Article II: I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command I will never surrender the members of my command while they still have the means to resist These words prolly have no meaning to you Changeplease. That's the code of conduct for people in the armed forces during wartimes. There's no hidden messages, it's straight up tells you that when you join, THERE IS A POSSIBILITY YOU COULD DIE. Anyone who joins sees this, and yet still they serve. It's about havin the courage to take the path not fit for everyone else.
no, it's about being brainwashed to the point of no return

If you call a change in mind set brainwash, then I guess it's true. You can't have a civilian mindset in the military. It just can't happen.

well i sorta disagree..some blks go into the military to get their life on track and to get some authority (i couldnt think of the word i really wanted to use) in their lifes also.

True...that's actually how it used to be too. We initially had to earn the priviledge to fight for America.

Maybe he can come out with a chronicled documentary on why the black man should be exempt from the military. He can call it Celsius IRAQ: By Mr. Wannabe Panther.

military folks, i'd like to ask a couple questions, mostly for my own curiosity but also cause i'm working on a play with some folks and we're trying to keep it from being hella bohemian. what makes war agreeable? (not the military, the actual idea of combat and murder) is it possible for someone to disagree with the instituition of war while supporting troops?

^^^...It's human nature to have conflict. War isn't always about murder. I feel like sometimes yoou have people who just can't be dealt with simply by civil means. I'm not an idealists who believes that we're living in a world that can exist without war. War is a nessacery evil. Sometimes we go to war to protect property, or to protect those who are too weak to protect themselves. Oh, and if I didn't answer your question, I believe that it is possible to support soldiers, but not support the institution of war. Just understand that the soldiers business is war, so don't hate him for doing his job.
