A day after hinting that he would agree to a trade because of a contract dispute, Owens told the Philadelphia Inquirer he would report to training camp on Aug. 1 at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. Terrell Owens Wide Receiver Philadelphia Eagles Profile 2004 SEASON STATISTICS Rec Yds TD Avg Long YAC 77 1200 14 15.6 59 404 The controversial wide receiver told the newspaper he remains unhappy with his seven-year, $49 million contract and that he wouldn't mind being traded. "I'll be there," Owens told the Inquirer on Friday. "I mean, the bottom line is that I still believe I deserve a new contract. I still believe I deserve more than what they've given me. But I'm not stupid. I'm not about to miss training camp, get fined every day and give them even more reasons to keep from paying me. "I'll be there but I won't be happy, I can tell you that much. Take from that whatever you want," he said. - From ESPN.com What ya'll think about T.O. and his contract holdout. Do ya'll think he deserve a new contract, or should he just shut up and be happy? Personally I think that all football players, rather all sports athletes, should be content with the money they make. These dudes make millions and millions a year and what do they do? Complain. Please. Seriously though, I think its really too early in the contract to demand a new one. I mean sure he had a nice season last year, but that was just one year. If he didn't like the contract he shoulda never signed the b!tch in the first place. Of course, he could always come to my Falcons if he want....

I doubt any other team could really handle T.O. because he won't be satisfied unless they are one of the best teams in the league. The Eagles are straight and I'm standin by that too. I believe Greg Lewis is good enough to replace Pinkston. T.O. draws so much attention, and this year L.J. Smith is healthy, so he'll see a lot of single coverage and handle the job in those situations. I'm looking to see what Reggie Brown can do. So far I've heard that he is soaking up the playbook like crazy and that's the most difficult part about being on that offense because it's somewhat complicated.

Things just got alot more interesting Report: Owens leaves Eagles camp after spat NFL.com wire reports BETHLEHEM, Pa. (Aug. 10, 2005) -- Terrell Owens has left Philadelphia Eagles training camp and returned to his home in New Jersey following an apparent verbal disagreement with coach Andy Reid, Philadelphia's ComcastSportsNet.com reported. The dispute occurred during a meeting, the report said. Owens left the meeting, packed up his belongings and drove home. Owens' publicist, who confirmed the incident and that Owens has left, is currently en route from Los Angeles to Philadelphia, the website said. Owens did not practice with the team, but did work out with assistant trainer Chris Peduzzi on one of the adjacent practice fields. Owens has missed five of the last six days with a groin injury suffered on Aug. 4. He ran some light routes and caught passes from a machine. Owens is seeking to renegotiate the seven-year deal he signed last year. The Eagles have said they would not do so. On Aug. 1, Owens reported to camp on time, and agent Drew Rosenhaus said a walkout was unlikely. So now what? Is he going to leave for a couple of days to clear his head then come back, or is he going to demand a trade or sit out the season? Better brace yourselves Eagles fans because things aren't looking too green right now.

just finished watchin NFL live on espn they say TO was suspended for the week. the team meeting they were in was because some of the other players were upset that TO didnt show up for a mandatory autograph session. so TO felt like he was disrespected and he and Ried got into and then he was suspended for a week. so he should be back. but then again who knows with this story.

After watching more ESPN coverage, T.O. was saying that he missed the autograph session because he was inside rehabbing his groin injury. Either way it goes, I think its a good possibility that they will trade him now. Unless he comes back next week and makes a sincere apology, its unlikely that he will be able to coexist with his teammates. But judging from his actions (practicing on another field, catching balls from a machine), I really don't think he wants to play for D'Eagles.

With Todd Pinkston out for the season, Freddie Mitchell gone, and now T.O. possibly leaving, that leaves Greg Lewis as their starting wideout along with Billy McMullen, a 3 year pro who has all of 4 catches in his career, and rookie Reggie Brown. Now you tell me. What team is gonna fear that wide receiver set? You'd better believe that the defenses they face will be stacking 9 in the box to stop Westbrook/Buckhalter. D'Eagles can't afford to lose T.O. unless they trade him for another big-name receiver. But who else will put up with T.O.'s "me-first" mentality when they already have a quality player to catch the ball?

Don't count the Redskins out yet, not so fast my friends. Dallas, is not going to be great again due to the fact that their team, except for Julius Jones is old and tired. The Giants have Eli at the helm and he is not ready to take lead of this team and make them better, plus they really have no one in there to support him. Philly has TO and Corey Simon to deal with, plus Pinston is out of the picture for the rest of the season. I don't see them making it back to the promised land. Washington has basically kept the exact same team intact, has improved their playbook to accomodate the skills of Portis. They've also gotten speedier receivers to stretch the field. You may say, well they lost Smoot and Pierce. Tell me the truth, had you heard of Antonio Pierce before the '04 season? Only if you were a die hard Redskin fan. D coordinator Gregg Williams can plug anybody at the MLB spot and make a star outta them. The loss of Smoot isn't that bad. Backup Walt Harris, who was a starter for Chicago and Indianapolis before coming to the 'Skins, will be the starter going into week one, plus rookie Carlos Rogers has proven that when healthy he's a threat to all receivers. 'Skins take the NFC East, ATL and NE in the final, NE does it again

This T.O. business is a lot of hype. The media is having a field day with it. They've been taking a lot of it out of context, blowing it up, i.e. t.o. practicing on another field, somethin that was approved by andy reid because of his injury. I know their not gonna trade him because no one is really gonna be too hot for him. I mean, if ANDY REID and the second best team in the league (on paper) can't keep him happy, then how many others can? I agree with what michael irving said. Sit down w/ him, talk things over, and guarantee him some real money next season. When it all comes down to it, T.O. got problems. He had problems with the 49ers to the point of them letting him go for barely anything. He single handedly got out of a trade with the Ravens, and now he's out of control with the Eagles. I think the sit down that andy reid is goin to have with T.O. next week will work things out though. Why the redskins WON'T win the nfc east. First the Giants are going to be good. Eli has great support. Jermemy shockey at tight end. Former Pro Bowl wr amani toomer. Free agent pick up plaxico burress. tiki Barber who of course made the pro bowl last season and has been one of the best rb's combined recivieving/rushing, over the past 5 years. The line is solid. What more can a QB ask for? The Eagles have a lil trouble, but haven't they had a lot over the past 4-5 years as one of the best teams in the league? The cowboys are decent, and it's possible that parcells can milk a winning season out of them like he did his first year there coaching. nevertheless, they won't be a long term winning team.

^^^Yea, yea, yea lol. I already read that article like 10 times, it's tragic, but their still goin to the playoffs. Verbally blast me over what I'm about to say if you want, but Chad Hutchinson showed some flashes last year. In the 5 games he played he did have three interceptions, but in the one against the vikes, he smashed them with a qb rating over 100. The other games weren't as pretty, but he did do decent considering the amount of pressure he was under. He actually got sacked 9 times one game because of the horrible line play. I say if he can hold up and do a decent job behind a no name garbage line, anthony thomas, and david terrell as their starting wideout, then he can do pretty good behind a solid line and a starting running back (two when cedric benson gets on board) along with a legitmate core of recievers. Mark my words- Chad WILL hold it down. And rex, it's over for you man. He has around 3-4 months until returning, and who knows if he'll even be 100% then. He's not getting that no. 1 job ever again because his backup has way more experience than him plus kyle orton is looking more promising than him. The only thing the bears lose in this position is an experienced backup QB, because Rex ain't proved nothin yet. They might not win the superbowl lol....but seriously, their makin the wildcard this year. If that defense stays healthy their goin to dismantle detroit and green bay along w/ some other wack teams.

Whenever T.O. so much as sneezes, it's over-hyped by the media. Next thing you know, this dude is gettin covereage on every major network. The Eagles aren't gonna trade him, if he doesn't play for them, he's not gonna play at all. I don't think it's necessarily that he even has problems, he just likes the focus being on him. I don't think he realizes that all press isn't good press.
